Rattler for lvl 4s

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for improving this for doing lvl 4s in Amarr space?

Looks okay. Ya' might want some shield extenders and rechargers, and maybe an Invuln or two.

Ditch those rigs its pretty much wasted money. The rest looks pretty decent honestly. With the new drone damage amps the rattler gets respectable damage output and is afk friendly.

The tank is total sh*t even with the T2 rigs. It can never tank a full agro level 4.

If you wanna watch triggers and stuff then there are much better ships anyways...

If you wanna use the new DDA's the only way to go is active.

Rattlesnake is, and always will be, one of my favourite ships. Here's some pointers.

Drop one drone dmg mod for another shield power relay. The minor loss to dps is worth the huge boost to tank.

Swap the 3rd omni directional for a large shield extender, a 3rd omni is really not needed with t2 sentries and good skills.

I would go 1 invul fields, 2 EM hardener, 2 omni's, 2 extenders for mids.

And swap those wardens for Curators please. They work perfect on the rattler. Use gardes for stuff 15-45km, then swap to curators and with 2 omni's, you can easily hit 40-80km. I pop frigates faster then i can lock them.

Also, it's probably just me but i prefer torps to cruise. The long range of cruise is nice, but usually my drones have killed stuff before that matters, and the extra DPS of torps is more noticable when there actually is close targets (>35km).

Doubtful. Unless you fit ~3 TPs and a Flare rig, I don't think torps will outperform cruise missiles.

Frankly, with the introduction of damage mods it seems to me like it'd just be better to have one or two alt accounts on 51 day "extended trials" in drakes to tank missions for you while you kit out your rattlesnake purely for damage.

It's a very tight fit, but it has decent damage projection, if not necessarily damage application due to the large explosion radius and low velocities of torpedoes in comparison to cruise missiles, and thanks to being able to devote so many mid slots to drone modules it can easily fit 3 omni links and 3 nav computers (so long as someone else tanks of course) so that it can park and sentry down battleships and battlecruisers, suck them up, and deploy 5 heavies to take out everything else as it makes its way to the next accel. gate or aligns to something for a quick warp out when the mission's over.

At the moment, however, when dealing with such a "dedicated fire support" role the navy dominix is probably a better choice simply because guns apply damage instantly and it has a real damage bonus for hybrids giving it comparable damage with long-ranged ammo despite having over twice the effective range. At least for any content where railguns are a better choice for damage than EM or explosive missiles.

Not, I'm sure, what the OP wants, but after years of multi-boxing missions it just seems more natural to me to work more with dedicated ship roles and specialized builds.

Has anyone tried an XL-booster + 3 hardener setup on a Rattler?

Fine burst tank, significant EHP to chew through. Just shy of 900 DPS (most of it drones), with decent projection all the way out to lock range. I'm pretty sure I've flown worse.

Tank would of course be even flimsier against EM/Thermal.

Any thoughts from those who have actually flown something like this in Inferno?
