Has anybody tested EVE on Mountain Lion yet? It sounds like it will be out July 25th.

Yes, I'm running the GM and it runs fine. Couple of things for installing. I had to enable installing apps from any source and the first time I launched eve it took ---f-o-r-e-v-e-r--- to come back and ask the standard "this app was downloaded from the internet, do you want to proceed" or whatever dialog. The new security subsystem must be at work here in scanning the binary before first launch. After that it launches normally.

Performance seems pretty much on par with 10.7.4 which is to say it's great (solid 60fps everywhere) until certain situations arrive. I was in a 400 person brawl yesterday with 150'ish missile hulls and performance was horrible (around 3 FPS I **** you not), with a 4.5ghz i7 and ATI Radeon 6870. Not sure I'll be playing eve on the Mac side very often with this kind of crap performance.

I did have missile effects and trails on, so I've shut those off and will see how it goes next time. That said, I was still able to lock and fire and maneuver so thats something I guess. Been awhile since I was in a big missile fleet so maybe my expectations are off.

EDIT/UPDATE: After turning missile effects off, I did another large'ish fleet of around 200 drakes/tengus and performance was much better (solid 50 - 60 fps).

Mountain Lion is available on the Mac App Store and I'm downloading now. Hopefully it'll work for me.

Tested with two clients and it seems to launch and run the same as before but I was reminded by CCP Goliath that Mountain Lion is not officially supported yet.

Oh oh ... so many questions, so little answers.

Confirming it works for me under Mountain Lion with the already mentioned hideous delay on first launch.

If you jump right into EVE after installing you run in the Spotlight index update and major hard drive grind session.

Running a single client works well for me, after the long, long first launch. However, nothing can coax the second client, created with the clone maker, to run. Even if it's the only instance, it fails silently before displaying the launcher. I'll edit this post with logs and specs tomorrow.

(I'm aware that the client's not officially supported; I'm posting this in the hope that it helps CCP test and release a purported client.)

Have had it running since launch day, but I didn't notice any slow first-time launch.

works fine, smoothed out Lion a fair bit. No issues for me running Eve so far.

To avoid the delay on first run there is a quick solution: Find "EVE Online.app" in your application folder, right click and select open.

It's a known way to bypass the check to see if the app is "identified"
The process on the 11GB+ file just takes some time.

A second interesting way to bypass is on the command line with following command:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/EVE Online.app"

Been running multi client eve (anywhere between 2 and 4 sessions) for about 3 weeks now on ML Server (I had access to the release candidate).

No new issues apart from time to time the clients refusing to restart. Caused by a dud/dead 'wineserver' process being left behind. I normally kill the server and it starts up fine afterwards.

3.4GHZ i7
20Gb memory
1TB HDD
ATI HD 6970 2Gb

Update: cloned app works fine now. It just failed the first couple of times. No idea why. Then again, Mail.app crashed hard the first time it launched under Mountain Lion, too, so maybe that's just a thing.

Also confirming that it works fine. No initial delay here. I haven't had any freezes which was a big problem in Lion. Hope that lasts!

Any update? May be this is an unexpected problem solver?

For the most part it works perfectly, but it fails to launch every once in a while.

I run two clients, one regular Eve Online.app and one clone created with the clonemaker tool.

Either of them can fail randomly.

It's not a big deal, but worthy of mention.

I have trouble with my client losing connection to the eve sockets, saying "The Socket was closed". I confess I'm a newbie, so I can't compare it to the client under Lion.

This has nothing to do with my internet connection, and a lot of other people also experience this... After contact with support I filed a bug report, but that does not solve my problem(maybe in the long run). Anybody else experiencing this?

Any one else have try and see if this work? No freezes, can this be true?
