Hey all,

There's some level 5 missions that cant use a capital due to the ship restrictions gate, so i was wondering what is the best non capital ship to use "SOLO" for level 5 missions and why ?

i believe the rattlesnake, ishtar, gila and potentially nighthawk are the only viable ships due to their ability to fit incredibly strong cap-neutral passive shield tanks.

They can been done solo, but 2 ships, make it a lot easier. The problem with 1 ship is that you have to set it up as pure tank. No dps mod's. This makes for a very l long mission.

I use 2 accounts, one in a Nighthawk, the other in a RR domi. This setup takes most of the pain out of doing lvl 5's. My best suggestion is log into test and try it there. I went threw about 10-12 nighthawks before I get the setup right, then they were cake.

I can post some fits but all mine are for 2 ships.

I've never done level 5 missions so i could be wrong, but while HAC and command ships can reach high levels of passive resist, i think they still need logistic/RR support in level 5 missions.

From previous discussions, it is not just ship that important. People pointed out that you also need to be picky about missions. You will not be able to do every mission when you use sub cap.

Batelle gave a good list. You can add stealth bomber to it, but again, it can only do some missions.

i believe that is what your looking for

will this have enough kill speed to be done before it runs out of charges?

I should buy an Ishtar.

so i went on the test server and i used the Ishtar and the nighthawk and they both got melted away i had all passive mods and still i died.

The missions that i get are always warp gates and not straight in sites why is that ? did ccp change it, where capitals cant go in anymore ?

Passive fit Tengu can solo tank most L5s, but the dps is pathetic.

The advice given above about dual boxing is highly recommended. Tank one, gank with the other with a ship of your choice.

Well, solo EVEing is like solo Facebooking... not nice at all.

You can fit a ridiculous shield ank, even now with the ATX's famous ASBs... But will take forever to run the missions by yourself. Get a friend with DPS fitting and be the bait or get a Logi support with a frig to clean the little trash. Will just melt passing the missions.

Just shout at Local. Who has this ship and want to take this mission... or that or those, etc. Soon you will find guys who fly the same timezone, timeframe and be rich and happy as hell at New Eden SmileBig smile

4/2 basilisk with a cap transfer going to each BS and back. Lot of isk to have floating around in lowsec though, especially with incursions in the safety of highsec and not having to offload as much LP :)

You are a lot better off to decline any gated missions and drop a carrier on non-gated ones though. Still a lot of isk to have in lowsec doing missions though lol

Not today spaghetti.

Set ups i ve used that farm lvl5s(those that worth farming):
1)Ishtar+guardian(beware of target painters as you enter a room).Low DPS
2)tengu+basilisk(4shield+2 cap trasfer).Low DPS
3)Sleipnir+basilisk.low DPS
4)Mael+rr Domi(extra DPS from sentry drones).Okish and low SP friendly
5)cruise raven+rr Domi low DPS newb friendly
6)Amar BSs+rr Domi.low DPS newb friendly
7)passive loki+any high DPS.needs ISK and SPs but effective
8)marauders+rr domi.ISK+SP but high DPS
9)Nightmare+rr Domi.ISK,not much SP but high DPS over any range

If you want to get serious about lvl5s you ll definitally want to upgrade to capitals and carriers is the first step.Still many lvl5s are faster when you do them with the right subcaps.
After that you can use a revelation for example compined with a webber but its stupid and 100% to lead to loses.
The end game is a supercarrier wich atm is the only proper use left in game for them if you dont want to be part of a 50 man supercap gang.

What people dont realise with lvl5 missions is that iot run them you dont really need pimped ships but a good knowledge of what to do in each mission site and how to behave-organise yourself or your corp around this kind of ISk making.

In the end, people should realise the basic difference between a lvl4 mission and a lvl5 mission. In a lvl4 mission the reward varries for each mission and most of the income is in the mission site(rat rewards-loot).For the lvl5 missions a player chooses to do,the reward is more or less the same and the mission reward is basically what the agent is paying(LPs+ISK).So what matters isnt if you need 2-3 minutes in a mission site, what matters is how much time you need to accept a mission, make the 2-4 jumps, blitz the mission and return to the agent to complete the mission.

The best trick that I know is to turn in the missions for multiple toons or take a few hrs to grind up some cyno alts standings to be able to pull the fives. What this allows you to do is pick and choose the missions you do so you can do all cap missions. When I ran lvl fives in lowsec I had 6 toons with standings which basically allowed me to spam 10 or 12 missions b4 i got jammed up with all subcaps. Lvl fives can be good money but it is all about getting there and getting the objective done the fastest. If done right a carrier can get threw 10 plus in an hr with cyno alts netting some serious isk.
