You get the satisfaction of heroically catching a pod and scooping the delicious meat from within.

mmmm, crunchy on the outside, nice and gooey on the inside.

Some days you're the bug, and some days your the windscreen.                   And some days, you're just a man with a gun.

How Do You Eat Your Jovian Goo Pod?

Pod and carebears: Remove wrapper, place in Pod cup, cut or bite off the top of the Pod, eat goo filling with spoon and/ or use Jove Fingers as dipping carebears. Eat corpse shell.

Bite and lick: Bite the top off the Pod, suck out the insides, lick out any remnants of goo and then pop the remaining corpse in your mouth in one go.

An extra tipple for adults: Bite the top off the Pod, suck out the goo, mash up remaining corpse and mix with a dash of Grand Marnier

It is called getting murdered and we get to have your corpse. So we indeed do get something out of it. when establishments come out in 2012 we will have a trophy room to display corpses in test tubes. XD Some people like to collect corpses. I like murder and corpse collecting. Pirate

Pretty sure that everyone who pods people adds the resulting frozen corpse to their corporate or personal meat locker in the hope that one day CCP will release an expansion that allows you to keep corpses in labelled display cases inside your captains quarters.

If that happens we will have gotten plenty out of it.

As I recall I wasn't crying, not even after I was killed, I was merely stating that pod killing was uncalled for. I did not have implants so lost nothing really, it's just dumb.

if you really like the pewpew in eve, stop whining about the podding and move on, its not like your losing isk when you get podded (unless your being dumb and pewpew in your learning clone). So stop whining about losing free stuff.

I don't normally worry about pods. I'm a little more e-honorable than some, I suppose. I do have some exceptions:

- You're a wartarget. Then it has a practical application
- You're on autopilot
- I haven't gotten a kill lately and I'm bored

low sec: try to catch them anyway and offer a 10 - 50m isk ransom based on age / kb stats (likelihood of implants). At such a low price you can pull a bluff even if you have no intention of podding and trying to get a scram on them is good practice anyway.

Pod killing has a few practical purposes beyond the tear-oriented and e-peen ones in this thread:

1) it is an ISK sink, and Eve needs as many of those as possible
2) it discourages enemies from flying with expensive implants that would give them an advantage over you
3) it prevents the victim from continuing to function as part of an enemy gang: e.g., FC'ing, scouting

I was in a group last night where we had a fight in low/null sec....my ship got blown out from under me, I was in the process of getting my pod out of the fighting area, and *poof* I am back in my home station.

It's a part of the game. Get used to it, if you are going to go down to low/null sec expect to get podded.

The only thing that I lost from that fight was part of my backside pride and a long trip of 10 jumps back to my home system.

Most of all, listen to your FC....if your FC says get out of system and you stick around (kinda like I did) I, myself and others that where there and either hung around and try to fight it out or was unable to get out of the system deserved to get blasted and podded.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned. The only person that I can blame for being stupid is myself...

Happy hunting and hope that your next experience in low/null sec is more enjoyable Pirate

I consider it a challenge to catch pods after a kill. Its a bit like getting the extra point after a touchdown. You have to try.

I used to have a clever sig but I lost it.

Actually they are just being friendly and saving you the trouble of flying to a station to get another ship Lol

At any rate, learn how clones work and keep it upgraded. You should never lose SPs unless you lose a T3 ship.
