Corp Ganking the Ganker to get insurance.

Is it the death by concord that causes the no insurance payout, or is it the aggressive action against the innocent?

Can i ex. gank someone quick, and my corp mate alpha's me, so i still get insurance by dying before concord even shows up.?

from what i read on the wiki it tells me this

" Suicide attack someone in High-Sec (players destroyed by CONCORD do not receive an insurance payout). "

which makes the getting ganked by corp mate before concord shows up to keep insurance useable.

.....Really wish i was at home so i could try this. I think the only problem would be doing it before concord gets you. would prolly have to be in .5 to get the gank off AND get alpha'd by a corp mate in time.

EDIT: i suck at this grammar thing

true about the having to be quick....

you could increase the odds by having your corp mate beat you down to near no hull/armor before starting the gank...

Could you just have your corpmate shoot your hull below 25%, then eject as soon as the target is dead? "SDs" still get payoff, right?

i don't think ejecting will throw the eggro from concord, kind of like when against simple npc's, they will still shoot your ship to death, even though you ejected.

could be a chance though since concord has not arrived at the time of 'eject', so maybe the mechanics is different, worth a try at least.

i've earlier tried things like ejecting and have alt ready to board a ship ..but concord says no...

This may work although youd have to have hella good timing. Maybe another option is calculate the exact damage you would need to kill your ship in two hits, then have your corp mate just hit you twice, but this would require you being able to get the gank off during the time between shots. Not sure if this is even possible tho. Maybe if you have a alt trained into arties with high damage but nothing that would speed up cycle time on them might get you there, but thats a hell of alot of work for an insurance payout.

You cannot eject from a ship in highsec while under GCC. Also of note is the other person doesn't need to be in your corp. If CONCORD is coming to get you, you are fair game for anyone to shoot.

I see you made your dodge roll.

How can you tell the difference if it's Concords involvement that denies insurance payouts or if it's the aggression itself? It's difficult to tell them apart because they both come hand in hand. You can't have one without the other.

I have a highsec kill where both Concord and I are on the KM yet I laid the final blow. (see original killmail tab).

We were both in corp together and he wanted to murder me. He taunted me to come out, so I quit corp and undocked. He and his buddy both engaged and Concord said hi. Got off a few shots but nothing substantial.

The thing is, when I was in his corp minutes before, we were both aggressed to one another and slugging it out. I docked to avoid death from his regular Domi. Not sure why he pulled the navy issue one out but he did.

Not quite sure how that mechanic worked but he was ultra pissed that he did not get any insurance payout.

If you gank something on a gate, and the gate guns pop you before CONCORD arrives, you won't get any insurance. That leads me to believe it's the GCC in highsec that invalidates insurance, and not CONCORD.

There must be some way to make it profitable. I got ganked in an Iteron V with about $3 mil in cargo by a Tornado packing 1400mm howizers. Can't see the economics in that unless there's some insurance payout.

You can't eject once GCC. Maybe once you could. Not now.

It is likely the GCC flag that cancels insurance. I have been killed by drones, not concord once GCC and didn't get a dime.

Doesn't need to be profitable for some.

My cyno alt got his kessie ganked by a tornado wich then got plopped by the station guns .Another alt got podded in empire by another Tier3 BC , just fyi he only lost a 900k for a new med clone as he is a low sp alt so not really worth it compared to the BC loss.
