The skill gap

1. I don't see Gallente drone specialisation in your skills, meaning that you are not able to operate T2 Hobgoblins and Hammerheads. Train it ASAP, Amarr drones (except for sentries) are total crap. Train Minmatar drones too, those are better than Gallente ones against Angel ships (and are the best for PVP due to speed).

2. If you are into misssions, DONT train battlecruisers, focus on battleships. Starting from Amarr Battleships 3 and Large Energy Weapons 3, you can start to try lvl4 missions. As for now, your skills look fine for lvl 3 missions, so any problems you are experiensing are because of wrong ship fitting or wrong tactics. For example, this Prophecy fit you've posted, it's just horrible. Low-dps mission running ship must be cap stable! Try this Harbinger, I've used similar fit quite successfully (hardeners are for Sansha damage profile, replace them according to mission description).

You could also train into an Oracle and accompany your friend on L4 missions. Your aim will be to blow things up quickly, while your friend gets all the aggro. Get into a Harbinger first, train up to T2 medium beam lasers, get your armour tanking skills up to being able to use a T2 Medium Armor Repairer, and then train to large beam lasers so you can jump into the Oracle with Mega Pulse Lasers and Multifrequency / Scorch ammo.

If you want to run missions solo, stick to the Harbinger until you are able to use T2 medium beams, T2 armour tank and 5 x T2 light drones. Then move into an Abaddon, which has a resistance bonus that will help you survive missions longer, or an Armageddon which will deal out more damage (thus making the mission last shorter so you don't have to survive so long).

Mission completion is about having just enough tank to get through to the end of the mission without your ship blowing up. Focus on DPS, since ships that you blow up will not be dealing damage to you.

Above all else though, see if your friend will take you on missions with them. Two people blowing stuff up together will have more fun and your friend might be able to teach you some mission-running tricks that you don't already know.

Try these site to help on missions THE SITE

Also don't forget laser on give EM and a little THERMAL damage so if it isn't against sansha or drones it's going to be a pain in the ass

Note: i think it's sanshas and drones but you can confirm it on the site i just gave you

You don't need best skills to earn good money. But you will need them to earn best money :)

About training L5 skills, if you are using amarr bc with pulse lasers, only L5s you need are those, that will give you t2 pulses, because they are significant upgrade over t1 or faction guns. t2 pulses for amarr pilot is everything. Because of scorch.

Another L5 skill you would like to get, is a Drone Interfacing, the most 'cheating' damage-related skill in eve.

Leave other skills at levels, required for fitting t2 (or good meta4) modules.

If you have troubles with amarr ships, try caldari missile line, they are easy to handle and don't need any skills besides fitting, allowing you to get into L4 missions very quickly (caracal->drake->raven), and switch back to amarr when you get good gunnery and capacitor skills.

If you specialise your training plans, you'll be able to do individual things faster than if you try to train up multiple paths at once. This pretty much sums it up.

True, but is there any way to enjoy that game while still at low level? I thought of doing the level 2 missions again or moving onto some thing such as research missions, until I'm able to do the level 3 missions. Also are there any skills which make the level 3 missions a lot easier? I know it can't be the ships because they are recommended by other people:-

Harbinger
Prophecy

The problem I have is that when I fly in I get hit by 6 ships firing heavy missiles and I'm not able to destroy enough of them before they destroy my armour.

Another missions I tried is to fly and attack the Gallente ambassador. He is say between about 10 minmitar ships and 10 Gallente ships which open fire on approach. I'm fitting a t2 armour rep and some mission specific hardeners and still I can't tank all these ships. Pulse lasers only have a range of around 20 meters max and beam lasers 35. So other than my skill level I can't see why I can't tank these ships Sad

EDIT

Never mind im stupid didnt see you already posted fit

You need heat sinks. Heat sinks = more DPS = not having to tank a long time, try for at least 3 heat sinks

Also remove the explosive rig and fit a nano pump.

Also google eve survival and see what ships are "triggers" kill them last so you wont have 2 waves of ships on you. you can also try fitting a nos on the remaining high slot or a gun im not sure how many guns it has.

Also you are talking about how the skill gap is so unfair...but you have almost 500000 skill points in industry none of those points will help you do level 3 missions, if you had invested them into your tank or guns you would be flying by level 4's right now

Yeah, well I joined a mining corp and they kept on saying how awesome the 'Hulk' was. Then I got bored and tired of noob pirates stealing loot so went back to doing missions again, thus switching careers. I was doing faction warfare a few years ago. Holy Emperor knows why I became a miner! Maybe the thought of being an eve industrialist was some thing that cheeped into my mind.

Thanks for the good info from the other people here. I got a few fittings from my friend and seems she is fitting a lot more t2 stuff than me. So I might work on getting skills upto 4 then train for some nice t2 guns and drones :)

T2 guns require a bit more than just a few level 4 skills. I'd suggest training up armor tanking and capacitor management skills first, drones and support gunnery skills second and only then focusing on the bigger ships/better guns.
For level 2s i'd recommend training up those drone skills and trying the Arbitrator drone-carrier cruiser. Just kite and speed-tank your enemies while your drones tear them to shreds. BCs (like the mentioned prophecy and harbinger) are more useful for level 3 missions.
If you're up for the challenge, you may want to try out the assault frigates - tech2 variety of combat frigates, those are tough nuts and can easily handle level 1 and 2 missions, and with proper skills can tackle even level 3 ones. Definitely a worthy ship to have, considering you have at least some form of income to get one (one AF with fit is in the price range of a BC, only you won't get as much insurance in case you lose any).
