So, i was just pulling off a smartbomb battleship gank in an ice field and when i set of my bombs next to the targets, they don't go off, and i get this message "realigning magnetic field".

Lost the targets as a result. What the hell is this? I tried several more times to activate them at safespots and the same message kept coming up. Some new carebear protecting mechanism?

It usually happens then u come from warm. Just press accelerate or stop it should fix the problem in most cases

It's a bug. Simple solution: When you drop out of warp, move your ship by double-clicking or aligning somewhere. Then blow them up.

Yeah, new carebear protecting mechanism. I tried to use it last night to catch a guy in warp who was carrying 5 PLEX. Needless to say he got away because of it.

its indeed bug, also sometimes smartbombs cycle but dont go off, doesnt get registered. Example:

you have target in range that keep constan in range & you have rack of 7 sb's that you cycle, 1 sb activation every 1-2 sec. SOmetimes you only get in like 15 sec's (theoraticaly 14 cycles) only lesser hit (5-8) registaratons in log. This is also a bug.

A bug. Happens to a lot of modules.

Solution. Move. Once you start moving, you can do whatever.

WIsh CCP would find out what causes it and fix it.

Happens when trying to launch probes immediately after coming down from warp, too.

Work-around as stated above:

Either align in any direction, or wait for the ship to stop fully before activating the modules. (It only seems to affect hi-slot modules that I've seen -- anyone confirm/refute?)

I can second this. Only ever had the problem so far on high slots, never in low or mid (yet).

This is a secret carebear protection mechanism. Best solution is to fly to the nearest HS gate and fire on a patrol boat. That should clear the module.
