Trolls on the forum

The forum is a place for players to communicate with other players about various topics, right?
And it seems that the number of people simply trolling without any useful information has increased. It's come to the point where they continue harassing people until they hijack the thread or derail it from the initial problem/question/information.
This kind of kills the whole purpose of the forum, might as well shut it down.

We all know EVE, and we know how complex the game is. There is tons of stuff to learn and many of which is backed by tutorials and/or guides - but the little things are still a mystery to many a player.
I'm sure all of you reading this have at one point had to deal with these socially ******** jerks with damaged egos.

Something should be done against this kind of behavior.

And no doubt, there will be some lifeless jackass to go ahead and troll this thread.

the people who most outrage the common pubbie that infects these forums tend to be those imparting the most useful information, just in a way that helps to scour the useless out by shaming them for their ignorance

It's true, the forum in general has fallen heavily on the quality of posts. :( Currently it is very difficult to find a usefull topic.

If people haven't figured out a way to reliably eliminate everyone who is different, then what makes you think anyone has a reliable solution for internet trolls?

trolling is just another form of meta gaming.

So your working at limiting the amount of meta gaming that we can do?

if so im sad.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

I will not idly stand by and watch these forums adopt something that discriminates trolls! In many ways, the troll represents the free voice on the internet, in its forums, over voice comms, in chat rooms, and any steps to limit the ways trolls express themselves are nothing but censorship and intrusion on rights to express oneself.

And taking that away, I fear, will endanger the rich culture the troll has to offer with art, song and literature.

Please. Think of the trolls.

You can kind of shut down the forums, just block people.

you could even do it so much a second class arises, where trolls live underneath the forums, lurking for fresh meat, people who havnt blocked yet.
