I remember in my first corp getting our cruisers and heading way out west. How it took forever to reach the edge. Then ratting till our ammo was gone and holds were full of loot. Then how it took forever to get home hoping we didn't run into anyone.

Make eve bigger again!!!!

When every useable system has 25 people in it at all times, then yes eve will need more space. But there are 100's of systems that never get mined, rats that live on. Until that happens there is just no need for more space.

GM Homonoia: In other words; feel free to use the tactic, but don't be an utter and total ***.

EVE is actually too big at the moment. I'm sure if 20% of the systems just disappeared overnight, nobody would miss them.

Fixed.

Resident Haruhiist since December 2008.

Laying claim to Out of Pod Experience since 2007, plain and simple. Keep the trash out of Out Of Pod Experience, If it's EVE Related or deserves a Lock, it does not belong here.

The problem isn't the size of the universe. The problem is how easy it is to jump from one place to another. Far too easy to exert control over a wide area of space with all the supers, jump freighters and jump gates.

that's because 100s of systems have **** belt ores, and **** ratting sites so nobody wants to go there. until they suck less wang than a hooker on the day the soldiers come home they will continue to be empty.

On the nose.

Also, the highway system could stand to be looked at again. It is perhaps a bit too efficient in Empire.

so wait, it was big enough but now it's too small? what made it feel smaller? we should address that before expanding the game map and it's not actually making the game feel bigger due to what changed.

i could said why i feel that way, but I'm interested in what the OP has to say. how did the game change to make space feel so small. for you.

New Eden is either the same size or larger than when you are making your comparison.

It is like when you go back to your old school that you havent seen in decades. It sure looks smaller than it used to because you have changed. The school is the same.

This is just typical highsec pubbie bullcrap. You clearly have no idea how much effort actually goes into logistics setups and sov infrastructure, it is not just some "I-win" butan you push every now and again. Most alliances who can hold onto sov have incredible people who can organise this crap, but just because exceptional people get involved in sov infrastructure doesn't make it too easy or overpowered.

I guess what I miss is the feeling of exploration. It sure wasn't the loots or bounties at the time. Knowing that there most likely was no one around except our little group.
