You're talking about feminists as if they're some sort of hive-mind who all share the same thoughts, ideas and opinions.

Them's just people. Some of them is reasonable. Some of them is batshit crazy. Some of them just want access to the same jobs for the same pay. Some of them want to be special princesses but without all the prince stuff. Some of them want to be treated as persons first and women second. Some of them want to be treated as divine goddesses of some kind.

Good people, bad people and many, many in between. That's kinda how the world works.

True, but it's been feeling particularly...monolithic...of late around hereUgh

It's like all the crazies are suddenly crawling out from...well, wherever it is they crawl out from...in the last few years since that batshit loooooooooony Andrea Dworkin died, I dunno, maing vOv

The ones who expect, and feel that they are entitled to "divine treatment," simply because they're women, using feminist dogma--the more radical of which would be considered hate-speech in Canada, just change the word "man" to say, "Black" or "Latino," or whatever, and see how it then sounds--to justify that mentality

Again, there seem to be an awful lot of those hereabouts--these are my particular un-favourites.

(I won't even consider dating North American women--at all--anymore, because all the ones I have, have shown this mentality, for example. I am not a walking ATM machine that you are entitled to just because you offer a dip in a stinking...errrm..."high-mileage" hole in "exchange" either, so don't flatter yourself honey: I can hire a prostitute or an escort any time I like for that...)

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

Anyway there are _some_ females that play EVE but not many. Good luck with your quest.

To the OP: Nope, no other girls.. You're the only one. You can unsubscribe now. Your attempt at finding a hobby that girls enjoy has failed. I know, I know... Mechanics didn't work for you.. Your job in construction didn't net you many girlfriends, and now you tried Eve Online and it was a bust as well.

Have you considered knitting, baking, or dance?

Knitting- I nearly put my eye out trying it, then the TSA took it form me at the airport- something about Granny hijacking the plane with them

Baking- I would tell you what the fire marshal said, but the forum has filters for that sort of thing

Dancing- I do love to shake my posterior, but it has a habit of shaking back:(

In which case, I'd simply use the terms "Lady" and "Gentleman", even if neither role has ever been filled by a human being before:)

Tell me, how do all the men the world who work at dangerous, ******, low paying jobs with no prospects for advancement, crap pay, no benefits, perqs, or security, benefit from this "gender privilege" of yours, to name just one group?

Shut up, child, the adults are speaking now.

Not that I expect you to actually read or do some research on it, your next quote proves all together your inherent sexism and internalized mistrust of women.

And wait, how does a man taking a ****** job mean that they don't have privilege? Because odds are, statistically, that if a woman took that same job, she'd be paid less, and still suffer the same things. You really don't understand what that word means do you?

Here, Read this.

Wanting equal treatment, is not divine treatment. The fact that you think we are asking for it, illustrates what sexism inherently is. Heaven forbid (pun intended) women have equal rights, or minorities have a protected space outside of the default culture groups. Try, for just one minute to get out of your privilege bubble and think of what it is like being other people.

So, would you like to continue in judging all (hell I'll be generous) 150 MILLION women in the U.S. alone based on the handful of bad experiences you've had with a tiny subset.

With that last paragraph, you've rendered everything you've written in this thread rubbish. I'm sorry a girl broke your heart, it happens, people change, you're better off I'm sure.

As long as you keep your butt stories for your personal friends and don't come up crying you're not loved because *xenuria psycho feelings* I guess no one cares about your sexual choices, really, who cares?
Everyone understands or should at least, all it matter is that you have a happy life and doesn't matter what you do in your personal life, but if you become some kind of heavy weight about what your butt is capable of vs a girl and start being another heavy weight messing with heteros you know in the end you can't expect them to just look at you and say "hello".

I just can't stand this behaviour and can eve become kinda aggressive because most of those people don't know when to stop.
If some one tells you to move along "sry I'm hetero" just move on, if you do then you're just a good guy and we will have some drinks because I don't give a crap what you do with your rear the moment you enjoy your life and you act like someone else, if you don't understand and make your heavy weight insisting you're gonna get my fist and probably some kicks in the face. Unfortunately there are far too many of the second kind, that's what is becoming a serious problem for your own community.

In the end, all I have to say about this is that many if not most of those people just make them selves dislike/hate because of their own behaviour. It has nothing to do with racism, but protection from some perpetual aggression from those so claimed victims of their body, they should fill petitions to god instead of shitting on someone else shoes.

I'll probably get a ban for this but at least I said what I had in my hart about this stuff, being permanently bored by those people since my young age I just have really bad time standing close to. You guys should maybe change your behaviour to be better accepted, after all we're in 2012, even for an old troll like me.
This being said, I have gay friends that understood my "stuff" is girls and they never ever mess with that because I respect them as long as they respect me. And believe me we have kinda good laughs.

Wait? What?

Statistics is brainless stuff?

I'm very sorry to inform you but several decades of dedicated research has shown that anecdotal evidence, like your assurances, is utterly worthless when it comes to making any kind of statements about groups of people the size we're talking about here (populations).

That brainless stuff, or statistics, is exactly what has shown to be reliable when it comes to making statements about millions of people. But, ironically, it requires a decent amount of knowledge to understand fully. Terms like mean, standard deviation, variances, causality, significance levels and more need to be understood in order to grasp how exactly statistics come to be and thus what exactly they mean.

You're making the exact same error those feminists you're so annoyed by are making, extremism. They claim everything is disastrously wrong, you claim everything is perfectly right. Which any rational mind can hopefully immediately see as both being nonsense. Some things go wrong, some things go right. Reality isn't nearly as black and white as you apparently believe it to be.

If it was you'd be right though, statistics would be brainless stuff. But seeing as reality is crazy complex to say the least that means that statistics, in order to as accurately as possible reflect that reality, needs to be crazy complex as well and thus is about as far from brainless as possible.

Not true:

This comes from many years of simple observation. Experience too, but that happens to all of us. Some of us actually choose not to keep doing the same thing whilst expecting different results -- Einstein was right, you know.

No, I don't continue judging -- I simply apply the judgement I've come to pragmatically, and look elsewhere, is all. And yes, the fact that I won't go NA/Western anymore has often got me the response "You just can't handle a real woman!" Do these broken little princesses not see the incredible, sickening bigotry in this statement? Call them on it, and I guarantee you'll (if male) be called "sexist."

Yet I've never been called "sexist" by any non-NA woman, some of whom have gotten to know me and my views quite well, indeed.

And the privilege in those ****** jobs comes in the sense that woman aren't expected to have to take those jobs, whereas men are. How many female coal-miners have you ever seen? How many females have you seen for whom it's "take that coal-mining job, or face the dole/homelessness?"

Yeah, I thought so. That's the privilege right there.

"The neutrality of [the Glass ceiling article really should be] disputed" by the way. I might just do so, that's the beauty of WikipediaBlink

Anyway, you'll keep for now, troll. there's plenty of threads far more worthy of counter-trolling hereabouts than this one, do come join me! (Because it's fun!)

This thread gets +10 ignorance about minorities and misogyny save for the decent chaps who have more than digital experience with women and possess the anatomy to not cut females down to make themselves feel better. Plus, there are some cool, rather mature, kids too.

BUT...

As far as announcing one's gender. I've only recently begun to be somewhat vocal about it.

WHY?

I've been in fleets that ****if I hadn't preemptively let boys recover from shock at a female voice ***** while others suspected voice hacks, half the fleet+ would have died, I suspect, with an unsuspecting girl providing intel during an op.
Roll

This is sad.

There are other reasons, but that's a start for now.

Otherwise, in good fleets/corps I've been in, I'm just one of the guys...eventually.

P.S. If you send me gifts (just because I'm female) I'll send you a thank-you card and buy your destruction for I wouldn't waste my own time and ammo. I too let the kiddies know I'm "old" as someone posted.

I used to work at the largest state run psychiatric hospital in Michigan. This is what we would refer to as "attention seeking behavior." And, oddly enough, 95% of the time, the person who was seeking attention was a woman.

True story.

In almost every MMO I play + Diablo 3, females are the only "minority" that feel the need to create these threads, for whatever reason.

Never mind the fact that some posts by obvious males already hint that, how in the world can you tell whether someone is really male or female on the Internet? What purpose does this thread serve? You will never be able to tell who the real females are.

Isn't it enough to just be a gamer? Do you need to announce to the whole world that you are female? Is revealing your gender even needed to play the game? I never feel the need to reveal that I am asian because it is not a criteria to rat, do missions, trade, etc.

Retraction: the post was liked by the poster, so apparently there is a misunderstanding of intent/meaning here so the reply is unnecessary.

On a related note. It's ironic in a game where there are so many boys/men with female avatars -- yet everyone assumes they are men -- that some don't understand one of the most innocuous reasons to identify one's gender. We are different and maybe simply get tired of people presuming we're guys.

In RL people communicate differently based on gender without nefarious motives. We don't even talk to mothers and fathers the same.

It's evident quickly enough if someone is a taker -- be they girl or guy. Do you know how many guys have hit ME up for money. I don't blame it on gender though.
