I'm planning on doing missions in amarr space, for cash and LP's for ships from the store.
Is the nightmare going to be the best ship to fly in amarr space or would i be better off going for something else(not a tengu)?

thanks in advance.

for em weak rats the nightmare is an extremely effective killing machine..assuming level 4 missions

i enjoyed lvl 2/3 in an omen and an harby.

I am a miner, mission runner, and explorer...

or as EVE Online would have it...

Nightmare will be awesome for nearly all the missions. I just remember getting the assault vs guristas, just blitz that and it should go very fast. and the other mission I remember being a problem was Angels Extra, well it is a nightmare so it isn't so much a problem as just takes a bit longer than most other missions

angel and gurista missions get tedius but aside from that nightmare is awesome. once every 7 seconds, you push a button and 50km away a battlecruiser disappears.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Nightmare is excellent for blowing up em/therm weak rats. It also has great range so you barely have to move around during a mission.

I recently picked one up; using it for L3's in Caldari space. Fun little boat. I wouldn't trust it in L4's, tho... I'm sticking to Tengu or SNI for that.

Shocked sure you didn't buy either a nighthawk or phantasm? the Nightmare is pretty superduper for level 4s

Not in Caldari space it isn't. Lasers don't really hurt Guristas.

I hardly ever get guristas missions, and anyways if they have a tengu and SNI they have plenty of options for guristas. (personally I use a drone boat and afk most of em, or kronos/vindicator to blitz)

I don't even like flying Minmatar against Guristas due to low dmg with kinetic ammo.

Rats weak to EM, Therm, and Exp on the other hand.

For Amarr space, the Nightmare and Paladin are mission kings.

The biggest advantage of a Nightmare is the lack of ammo usage if you use Tachyon Beam Lasers. Imp Navy MultiFs will hit out past your max targeting range, and they take forever to deplete, and they are relatively cheap since you are farming the LP that you'd use to buy them anyway, and you can literally just save the ones you get as loot from Blood Raider/Sansha missions.

How are pulse lasers for missioning? I don't have tachyons trained for tech 2

Fine using scorch but it will get expensive in the long run. Lol

faction tachs are a good option. you don't need t2 ammo, you get good damage and less cap use than T2 guns. you also only need 4 so it's relatively cheap.

I should buy an Ishtar.

faction aren't a bad choice at all, but t2s do more damage, tbh I haven't had problems with t2s so I cba to try faction.

when I first got my paladin I used megapulse it worked pretty well, but for most missions I much prefer tachyons.

As long as everything is within 45km they work great. But there are plenty missions where rats spawns outside that killzone and there are also BS rats that orbit at greater range. Coupled with the 36EM 8Th damage ratio and short fall off and you're in for a world of boredom when trying to shoot down Guristas that orbit at 50+ km.

I stopped runnign missions in my nightmare about 6 months ago, but if you got the perfect agent, you can make billions a week in high sec.

i pretty much stopped running missions as I could not be assed grinding 40m an hour when in null sec i make 100+ m isk an hour in a mach.

when you go to fit your nightmare. remember gank is a good deal of your tank.
dont use cap power relays or the gods of shield boosting will nuke you.

just remember it taks a bloody long time to train up right for a nightmare.
I spent a good two years skilling up for one. and i am still a few lvl 5's short of being perfect for one.

also one last note.

the more you spend on your nightmare the better it will be. but this will also draw attention from gankers .

Contact me ingame if you want a nice quiet place to run lvl 4's

even tho i have beam spec at 4. i find that t2 tachs chew up far too much cap for my liking. and using faction was only loosing 40 dps over all.

in the end its what works best for the pilot :)
