Where's that quote from?

"Probe four is reporting a cosmic signature in the vicinity of Kothe III, Moon 1,” the navigator reported.

“Very well, bring the other probes in for a closer look,” Captain Margash ordered. His crew were inexperienced at exploration, and the Kothe system seemed like a good, safe place for him to try out the Anathema’s newly purchased and installed equipment.

“It’s a wormhole, Sir! Classified V-301. Seems to go to unknown space,” the navigator announced excitedly. His face glowed with the faint blue reflection of the scanner’s interface.

“Well done, Nav! Bring in the probes and let’s go have a look.”

The Amarr Covert Ops frigate was on its way to parts unknown.

Where does the Evelopedia page on Wormholes quote this from? Whatever the source, it is clearly wrong, as it is basically impossible for a V301 to spawn in Kothe (V301s are wandering C3 -> C1 connections)!

I assume you're referring to the first part of the wormhole wiki page:

I've wondered that myself, I tried tracking it down once and ran into a dead end.

First I looked in the history for the page:

You can see that one of the ISD Mercury team moved the history to the lore page (for no good reason) instead of evolving a new history for the lore page:
  • " 00:13, 29 December 2011 ISD Caleb Kang (Talk | contribs) (30 bytes) (moved Wormholes to Wormholes (lore): To separate the lore from the Gameplay mechanic/)"

So jumping over to the lore page history:

Almost all the way down you can see that before 21 January 2010 the quote wasn't a part of the page. On the 21st, Peynwyn merged the "Wormhole_Reference page" with the wormhole page, it's probably from the "Wormhole_Reference page" that the quote came:
  • 01:01, 21 January 2010 Peynwyn (Talk | contribs) (58,921 bytes) (Combined and reworked the old Wormholes page and the Wormhole_Reference page)

So, looking at the Wormhole_Reference page:

We see the page and its history were deleted :\
  • "This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference.
  • 05:20, 21 January 2010 Peynwyn (Talk) deleted "Wormhole Reference" ‎ (Page was merged into Wikipedia:Wormhole. All bus Sleeper_Sites page references updated to wormhole page. PeynWyn)"

I tried scoping out with a google search for the text, but everything referred right back to the wiki.

So either PeynWyn made up the snippet and added it on during the merger or it was pulled from an even earlier posting... I suppose it's possible that there's a backup somewhere which still has the old history. Maybe someone from CCP could please take a look for us and tell us what you find? *bats eyelashes*

I think being able to customize your ship with pin-up girls like say a B-52 back in WWII would be a good idea. Or customize any paint for that matter.

Ok, not to be that guy, but the B-52 didn't come about until at least the mid 1950's. You sir, are thinking of the B-17, B-24, B-29, B-25, B-26, A-26, and the myriad of fighters of the era.

Sorry.

Anyway, yeah, that'd be pretty damn sweet.

But it says the crew were inexperienced at exploration. Clearly they misidentified the wormhole as a V-301. In truth it led them to a C6, collapsed behind them and they all died in there. Their erroneous account was later found in a floating pile of space trash which is why nobody knows the source.

Mystery solved.

Probably was a B041, opening up into where else but Nova itself. No wonder Cpt. Margash is no longer with us...AHARM must have rolled the hole out from under him then decloaked his Anathema on the static and blown it to bits ;)
