It raises not only the matter of the personal identity as mediated through a technological consensual hallucination, but also the difficulty of contextualizing and interpreting emotional content received through such virtuality vis a vis the distinction between cooler negatives such as condescension and contempt, and the more deflagratory perceptions e.g. rage and anger. And all this is to say nothing of the socially-constructed notions of mental illness implicit in the text and subtext of your argument. Ultimately, however, it is difficult to bridge the somatic disconnect between the cybernetic persona and the mundane homunculus that commands it without problematizing the material/virtual dichotomy imposed upon us by the technology we have created.
