I am a new pvp'er that has carebear exp. a long while back. After training a bit I have been going into low sec. pvping. I DO NOT mind lossing or losing ships, it's how it goes. But what really eats at me is when after the fight I say GF or good run, nice job, I get pod killed? Really? It's really stupid when you win someone pats you on the back and you pod kill them. Very scumbag tactics. In Minmatar area a group of cruisers from ASSETS pod killed me. I said GF and was moving along to get another ship and bam, pod killed. Nothing more irritating than to have to figure out what skills have to be retrained because of some idiot going overboard. Please stop the pod killing as it amounts to nothing, you get nothing out of it. Thanks.

I don't see why not warping immediately would cause you to get podded, but ok, I'll remember that. Thanks.

When you know your'e going down, make sure you have something warpable selected and start spamming the warp button. The moment your ship explodes you will instawarp and save your pod i.e. unless you happened to be in a bubble and in nullsec at the same time.

Keep clone upgraded. Don't use implants you can't afford to replace. Spam warp when you're going to die. Only ehonor faggots gf.

In low sec or zero zero or in combat with war targets..... they will always kill your pod because:

1. They can

2. They want to

3. You will not want to lose your pod

4. They get another kill mail to post on their board

5. Their killboard assigns more points for killing pods

6. They get to hear you cry in local or read about you crying on these forums

7. Insert other reasons here

In the interest of not sounding like a complete jerk.
If you see your ship exploding/losing hard, start jabbing the "warp to" button to a safe spot or the nearest celestial. That way as soon as you explode your pod warps instantly. Once you are in a safe location (warp away from celestials/gates etc) to your safe then start chatting with your opponent.

Even I will try to scramble your pod and ask for ransom, kablam you if you don't comply. Good Fights and lulz can then be exchanged.

Unless the guy's home system happens to be the one in which he's pod killed, his opponents actually will not get to hear him cry in local.

The most pragmatic reason to pod you is because it denies you the ability to provide intelligence to any friends you may have. This is especially true in 0.0 space.

In reference to the skills having to be retrained thing, it is highly advisable to ensure you always have an up-to-date clone that can support all of your skillpoints. Podding will happen from time to time, it's just part of the game.

Pod killing is an essential facet of w-space PvP, as it permanantly shuts that character out of the fight; if you don't pod him, he can simply fly back to his POS, pick up another ship, and re-join the fight. If you do, he's out in k-space for the duration.

There are innumerable reasons to pod kill (in lowsec, jspace it's silly not to):

- Keeping you around is a risk, you could reship or provide intel/warpin. Podding you is the fastest way to remove you from local.

- The ol' corpse collection needs freshening.

- You didn't pay the ransom and/or you're spamming local questioning my sexuality and the integrity of my mother.

- Pod goo is great for the skin.

- It's polite, why make you fly all the way to highsec when we can send you there lickety-split?

Not true, you do get something out of podding someone. You get someone posting on the forums to stop pod killing. And from where I stand thats almost as fun as seeing someone yelling to stop shooting miners in hisec.

Have a nice day.

Some days you're the bug, and some days your the windscreen.                   And some days, you're just a man with a gun.
