True. A slew of them over the last couple of days have been created since this thread popped up expressing a will to have them all shut. I am, however, not talking about these. I'm talking about the steady number of them over the last year the pop up and die off only to have another replace them. They all need to be locked and the circulation needs to be ended. You cannot cherry pick rules based on favouritism, that is stupid.

Amber Katelo wrote:
Those new variants are not created in imitation or homage of those threads at all. They're created to extract tears from complainers like you or the OP.

It's statements like this that make how pathetic trolls are these days shine through. You don't extract tears through creating spam, you just make me report another thread and move on, and occasionally give me something to do with my spare time in posting in threads like this thoroughly applying the put-down on erroneous rumours and foolish thoughts like your own.

A troll isn't a troll because the troll says it is a troll, no more than I am an astronaut because I say I am. You have to actually be good at, you know, discrete trolling so others don't know immediately your intention, thereby these threads fail at their secondary intention as much as their primary.

I'm just saying, while they might be fun and games, they're still against the rules. And what kind of forum bittervet would I be if I ignored others getting a free pass at rulebreaking? Hmm?

FWIW, all of the threads in question were recently moved to OOPE. They were all moved back to GD within approximately a week, if my memory serves me correctly.

The original (wwysiywuttaayiyb) was moved to OOPE and several others were locked. There was a major uproar over ISD actions and everything was unlocked and wwysiywuttaayiyb was moved back to GD.

LOL Man, people sure do have their priorities right around here! Kind of reminds me of this Chuang Tzu wise man parable:

A keeper of monkeys said that each monkey was to have three chestnuts in the morning and four at night. But the monkeys were very angry at this; so the keeper said they might have four in the morning and three at night. With that arrangement they were all well pleased. The actual number of the chestnuts remained the same, but there was an adjustment to meet to the likes and dislikes of those concerned. Such is the principle of putting oneself into subjective relation with externals.

Therefore a wise man, while regarding contraries as identical, adapts himself to the laws of nature. This is called following two courses at once.

Well, the part about the monkey uprising, at least.... Smile

Exactly, why post rules at all if they are only going to be selectively enforced.
If the threads were moved to another forum, lord only knows why they were moved back.

The participants can have just as much fun in some other place, they were probably just pissed off that they weren't getting as much attention as their self-absorbed egos demanded.

I don't think I'll ever be able to take another post of yours seriously after that bad joke of a thread you started about the deaths in Aurora. What a _______

Yes we all get it, you don't like the new avatars and specifically you don't like threads about them, but EVE is not your personal sandbox. The character editor is an integral part of the game, as much as spaceships and stargates and until Incarna picks up development again and the everything related to get it's own subforum, these threads belong to GD.

AHAHAHA. Now I get it. You people are just perpetually butthurt about WiS getting dumped into the development scrapheap.
Your threads are just metawhines/trolls to those of us who consider it a major distraction from the real game.

Makes sense now. You sad, sad people.

So much whinging.

The topic of the threads tends to revolve around something simple while having an objective of keeping it frivolous and fun. So therefor it becomes a matter of opinion whether it is spam or not. Just like people who like some forms of music calling all other forms of music noise.
Just because we're taking a break from the constant job of being a butthurt EVE player doesn't mean we're trying to make you all butthurt, it's just a side effect of us honestly not giving a **** about what you guys think.

But I can understand the deep and meaningful desire to purge these forums, lest the very fabric of EVE be torn asunder! Just like when the avatars got new clothes and the world nearly ended.

You know the ones I'm talking about.

"Rate the Avatar above you"
"What is the Avatar above you thinking?"
"What would you say if you woke up to the Avatar above you in bed?"
"Hate the Avatar above you"
Throw in the "Likes and Get Likes Thread"

These insipid threads obviously violate forum policy - for having no content.
They are simply pages and pages of the same jackasses bumping them over and over with more 'no content'.

Forum enforcement has been supposedly improved, right? Enough is enough - do your jobs and start locking.

OR, AT LEAST - move the mouth-breathers to another 'quieter' forum. I suggest "Features and Ideas", or at least OOPE.

This way, the rest of us do not have to constantly see them competing for slots on the front page of General Discussion.

Thank you.

Quick, folks! What do the avatar above and below you you think of this thread?! Post NAO!!

If you see any forum rules violations feel free to report it instead of creating this kind of threads. 131 reports for a thread that is breaking rules is better than 131 posts about nothing that related to EVE Online as a game. It looks like trolling. You are trying to cause a clash between those who wants this threads being alive and those who wants to close it. If you want to help us to keep the forum clean, do help. If you want to make some discussion about discussion that is about another one discussion, please do nothing.

Thread locked.
