Can anyone suggest a fit for Gallente Epic Arc Level 4 missions?

I started to do Chapter 1 of the epic arc, but found that even in a T2/slightly pimped shield tank Navy Domi, or t2 armour tank Megathron, I just couldn't tank the missions from Averon Exchange onwards. In the end my CEO helped me, but he's dual-boxing two toons in Tengus.

Any suggestions about how to get decent tank able to run these missions would be appreciated.

(Please don't just suggest 'Tengu'!)

What damage types are you facing in the missions you have trouble with?

Also, since you say No Tengu, what ships can you fly? Are Gallente subcaps generally good to go?

I was able to tank everything comfortably in an omnitanked rattler. pith A-type large booster, 2 invulns (one dread gurista), 1-2 deadspace hardeners, 2 power diags and a damage control. The wiki tells you which missions are difficult to tank and which are biased towards a certain damage type. Most of the time I just had the two invulns. The rattler made it easy because it has slots to spare and massive shield hp. In another ship I would have had to put more thought into my fit. Also, I took the lowsec branch because it ws quick and easy in an assault frig. The only risk is getting somehow instalocked on a gate and losing a mission item.

A lot of the missions aren't actually deadspace, even though you use a warp gate to get to the pockets. I just finished beating "Studio 1" in a mildly pimped solo navythron by warping around to wrecks, BMs, and different bits of the scenery. Syndicate/Pator 6 battleships are very fast and put out a ton of damage, but don't seem to have much range, so keep them outside 30km or so and warp off when they get on top of you. You should be able to kill 2-3 at a time like that. Also make sure to nuke the elite cruisers, as they neut you.

There's a very good guide on the gallente arc, starting with the first mission here.

Another slightly unorthodox way to tank it is to buy a boatload of cheap light drones and abandon 5-10 sets of them on the field. The enemy ships take forever to kill them, so you should be able to burn through most or all of the ships before your sacrificial drones run out. A couple of ships might target you after killing a drone, but you aren't likely to get full room aggro.
