hello, all!

i've been training and trading low-SP scanners and cyno pilots for about two years off and on. i'm interested in getting into some more advanced character trains.

sitters are basically just minimum-sp alts for SCs, right? what else do they need besides the ability to sit in the ship? do they need the jump skills beyond JDO V? what about nav and all that crap? what adds value here? would a titan sitter be a better option than a nyx?

for OGBs, is each of the warfare spec Vs required, or is it enough to get it to IV? do people care about info warfare spec V?

edit: one more - what's the most popular OGB nowadays? tengu, legion, or loki? i was going to roll with a loki, because winmatar.

I have been looking for a lowish skill toon to have a go at FW. Something that can use an AF with T2 guns. Not sure if there is a demand for those though, or even what one would pay for them.

Bump because I'm curious.

I have some sale-alts going too and a cap main so interested.

By the way, what has two thumbs and just completed Tactical Weapon Configuration today?

Just to chime in, for selling a character - what I have seen is people want as little as possible. If it takes 10 mill SP to sit in the ship then they don't want to pay for 10 mill +2 SP.

Because they have mains that can fly it etc. They use thes characters for filler only.

Also, if you really wanted to put a cap pilot together then you are in for the long haul. No quick turn around.

Funny, seems like all people want are scanner, hulk and Tengu pilots.

scanner pilot orders seem to be drying up. everyone wants hulks and tengus for bots, but the turnaround time on hulks doesn't justify the minimal profit margin. tengu alts do well if they're properly skilled, but they need to have a brain when training or else it's tough to find a buyer for what they're worth.

a SC sitter doesn't take much longer than a tengu. it's the OGB that's a long one - seven months total, with remaps and +5s - to get specialist IV in the non-racial boosts and spec V in the racial boost.

A SC holder is one that can only sit in it. Most if not all of the mods will go offline. Cost around 5 bil for under 7 mil SP character.

A SC Sitter is on that can keep all the mods online, i.e, cloak, capital remote armour, energy, shield transfers, neuts, smartbombs, Projected eccm, all T2 cap mods for travel fit, all deadspace, faction officer mods. Limited Jump range is nice but not usually available in this characters. Price 7 bil about 11 mil SP.

Anything more that that on a sitter would sell as a focused carrrier pilot in training that can sit in a SC. I.e. has fighter skills & jump drive skills Price 10 bil, 20 mil SP

Another one that seems to sale good is T3 Leaderships alts that can boost a fleet offgrid. Lokis & Tengus seem the most used, but Legions are good too.

The most common low skill point alts are Tengu & Hulk pilots.

Training to sell can be a hit or miss sometimes.

as i said in OP, i'm training a loki OGB =) i'm also working on two tengus with the skills to be an alt or a starter main.

looks like i'm going for a holder, not a sitter. the holder toon will have some jump skills but not much else. i'm a little surprised that the margin is as small as it is when the books are over a billion for cap ships and carrier, plus a billion to transfer, plus the cost of plex..

is it worth it to train cap ships IV and V to be able to hold a titan as well?

ask yourself how many new titan pilots there are per month/year. any current titan pilot will likely have a sitter already, so you're target audience is a new titan pilot completing his setup in preparation for buying the titan.

is it more worth it for a loki booster to have command ships IV or warfare link V and armored/siege spec IV? it's roughly the same amount of time.

loki boosters and cap holders go for redic prices.
train a 10mi SP loki booster and you can sell it for 8bil+.

covops are a good way to go too.

covops pilots are what i've been doing and making good cash out of.

what skills would you expect to see on a loki booster? covops loki, offensive sub (warfare link) trained to V, basic tank skills, FC to at least IV (62 day train even with implants and respec for V), skirmish specialist to V....then what?
