Dominix heavy Drone #'s

So it's been awhile since i've played. How many Drones can a Dominix fit? (As in heavy/med/light).
Wasn't there a Drone patch a long time ago that reduced the number to 5 for all? Can a domi even fit 5 heavies?

That being said is it a decent ship? Is Neut Domi still worthwhile, or should I just fit rails/blasters on it instead?

It can only deploy 5 drones of any type at any one time - 5 is the maximum for any drone ship

They reduced it down from 15 many years ago but added damage bonuses to teh ships and changed the drone interfacing skill to give 20% damage per level, which basically means that even though you are flying less drones you are doing the same damage.

And yes drone ships are still good ships. A domi can fly 5 heavies and a neut fit is still viable but certainly isnt as popular as it once was. the standard fit tends to be blasters these days for PVP or rails for PVE.

Also ther are now low slot drone damage mods which means that drone boats can put out some pretty serious DPS.

The Dominix has 375 m3 drone space and 125 Mbit/sec bandwidth.

Heavy drones are 25 m3 and 25 Mbit
Medium drones are 10 m3 and 10 Mbit
Light drones are 5 m3 and 5 Mbit

And the max number of drones a domi can field is 5, same for all subcap ships with a drone bay.

Yes, all subcap ships had their maximum drones normalized to 5 (except the guardian-vexor, but if you know where to get one of those, I'd like to know). This was compensated for by adding a drone damage & hp bonus to the drone ships, so they would effectively have the same number of drones, just with fewer actual bodies flying around causing lag.

The dominix has just enough bandwidth for 5 heavies/sentries, and its drone bay is large enough to hold 15 of them (or 10 and a smattering of small/medium drones).

And yes, it's still a fantastic ship. Perhaps a bit less so since battleships in general have somewhat fallen out of favor, but you can still fly it with neuts, rails, blasters, and all sorts of other stuff. In fact, it got a good bit better recently with the addition of drone damage augmentors for the lowslots, and ancillary shield boosters which make shield tanking it a lot easier. Not to mention hybrids getting a buff not long ago.
