Do you consider your internet spaceship a plane, or a ship?

Listening to the peopole from CCP talikng about stuff last night before the AT final, it was interesting that one of them made reference to big ships flying in columns (ie a battle line) with frigs darting around inbetween the columns, and so that made me wonder whether we consider our ships as planes, or ships? I ask this also because I recently finished reading 'Castles of Steel' which is simply the best book on naval warfare I've ever read.

For me, they are defintely ships (not planes) and so thats why I would question the way bigger ships - BS and upwards - are able to be fitted. Since I think of them as ships, I would see a BS as having some big weapons - to kill BC's and other BS's - but also have smaller weapons to deal with smaller ships as well. This would of course entail changes to slot layouts - how about 10 - 0 - 6 for BS's?).

I know this is really a moot point, but I'd be interested in how other players define their internet pixels

IDK if you've noticed, but eve's physics mimic that of water/underwater physics.

So, we are obviously piloting ships/subs

I'll leave comment on big ships' weapon fits to more experienced players, but I can thoroughly endorse Hestia's recommendation of Castles of Steel. Great read for anyone interested in naval warfare before the age of radar and electronics.

A ship.

...and EVE's physics mimic a pretend spaceship with a warpcore that induces drag against the fabric of space.

Rockets, like from the Flash Gordon movie, not like rockets coming out of our launchers.

I think of my ship as a small kitten, fragile and adorable (those big ears! those wide eyes!). the other ships I meet I think of as yarn, or maybe a plastic ring from a milkjug, to be tossed about, batted a bit, and chewed on until I lose interest (aka, they explode).
