Missions and Sec Status

Anyone know if killing mission rats still increases sec status? I know it used to, but I just started working on my status, and I only seem to be getting increases when killing belt rats.

Did CCP change it, or maybe only the person who gets the final blow gets the increase?

Some mission rats will give sec status increases. Some missions, bizarrely, will not - such as in World's Collide. I'm not sure if there's any database of which do and which don't, but it doesn't seem to be linked to deadspace or not or anything logical.

Remember, sec status increase is once per fifteen minutes per system per npc pirate faction, so killing more rats in one system in that 15 minutes isn't going to help you any. Fastest way to grind sec is still hopping systems in a stealth bomber in null if you're down for that.

Most pirates do in missions not as good as null but it rises pretty quick. Guess the 1 min tick makes it much slower but *shrug* but should be steady with most agents

I wondered the same thing and ended up petitioning it.

The GM said that only rats belonging to "real" factions give you sec increases. I.e. Serpentis, Blood Raiders, Sashas, Angels will give you sec, while EOM and Mercenaries will not.

This is not universally true - Angel rats in WC, for example, don't appear to give any sec. I've seen no logic to which missions give sec or not yet, though as mentioned all missions from non 'real' factions definitely don't.

High sec missiosn SHOULD never hand out sec increases at all.
if you want that head to low sec or null sec.
