Who cares if people don't trust me? It's not like I'm asking people to do anything they would not otherwise do. I am not expecting people who ordinarily would have no interest in suicide ganking to suddenly go out and do it for the exclusive reason that there is a bounty payout waiting for them. It is much more realistic to expect people who are already disposed towards suicide ganking to continue doing it and send some killmails to the people on that contact list to get their bounty reward.

for this to work out for them they are going to have to pay the bounties and tell all those who were ganked why they were and to spread the word. otherwise this thing is going to fail. there are miners everywhere in gallente space, finding targets takes 5 minutes.

Exactly! Your sentiment reflects the ideology of the New Eden Asteroid Preservation Society perfectly. If we can't put a stop to the wanton mining that goes on every day all over New Eden, future generations won't even remember what asteroids were; They'll live in barren, black space devoid of the natural beauty which we are currently destroying at break-neck pace.

NEAPS fully endorses the efforts of the Goonswarm. Regardless of their motives, their declaration of "open season" on miners will at least delay the destruction of our environment.

Actually, you're not looking at this with the proper economic viewpoint.

See, to Goonswarm, which takes in something like 150 billion in isk in tech moon profits a month, these bounties are piddly crap. Drops in the bucket. Veritable chump change.

But to the long running Goon strategy -- that is, destroying all ice mining, and thus crippling all T2 Production and all Gallente POS activities -- they are priceless. The value gained for the isk in paying out profit LEGITIMATELY, and thus ensuring more people do it, is vastly higher than the small amounts of isk they are paying out.

Getting more people in on this will help ensure that this project continues and succeeds long into the future. In addition, to steal a term from political science, the "Overton Window" is being shifted towards the griefers. That is to say, by doing this they are making it more acceptable to grief in highsec.

They are destroying your Concord shield.

And there's nothing you can do about it.

(Except, as another fine upstanding goon has pointed out, go to the EVEO forums and whine.)

Your tears are worth all the isk in the world. Especially since it's usually your isk we're using.

But there is one more thing I need to point out. CCP has stated that they plan on moving ice to Nullsec exclusively. We are doing you a service by preventing you from mining ice in highsec. Because you will not be able to mine ice after the winter expansion.

I think this is a mistake. Ice needs to be rare in high, common in low, and plentiful in null.

edit: completely changed up my idea.

I'd rather they create a low-yield highsec ice product that would require a significant mining effort to get enough fuel for just a small tower. This would let corps who want to run their own supply chain do so, but remove the profit from highsec ice mining and drive the true industry out into low/null where the REAL ice fields would be in abundance.

Nullsec already has the market cornered on moon goo, they shouldn't get exclusivity on ice as well. It's just TOO easy in highsec right now.
