Ewar Tormentor....will it work?

I really like this ship but my drones always get picked off fast no matter how well I micro manage them. So my thoughts were maybe a TD would keep them from getting owned. So here's what I came up with. Do you think it will work? Keep in mind this is for FW minor plex brawling.

It should work, but why oh why in the name of all things holy with you fly it with a 200mm plate when it can fit a 400mm plate.

Might work out.

Now that it gets a third turret (is this onyl on sisi or did it make it to the actual game yet?), it can actually get decent turret dps.

Hmm I can't seem to squeeze the 400mm in. I mean it's hella close but not not quite.

Sorry I am sure even better is possible but I just slapped this together in 2mins. I think the extra tank is worth giving up the small neut since cap is crap anyways.

Thanks. Will plug it into EveHQ tomorrow when I'm not drunk. But I do like the neut. It seems to be the only way Amarr can dictate range.

Live in the future. The next round of tiericide is going to give the Tormentor a third hardpoint (but change nothing else about it -- not even PG buffs to compensate.)

Tried the fit with the neut first on a dram. Didn't work. Never could shut down his prop or web. Couldn't hit him either because I was stupid and forgot I had scorch loaded. So then I tried your other recommendation. It works ---> http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=14084976

That was a ridiculously long and hard fight. o7 Markius. But it got me thinking. Yeah this ship has great EHP but what really saved me was the armor repairer. And with the incoming damage reduced by my TD why not active tank it? Hows this look?

I couldn't fit the energized nano plate so I downgraded it. That left me with a bunch of room so I upgraded the guns. Thoughts?

With the mediums and no web you may have tracking issues against faster close in frigs...

This will draw out the fight even longer with your own TD reducing the incoming dps....

So you will end up both trying to reduce your angular velocities to score good hits and it then becomes a damage race...pretty much cancelling the TD effects and bringing it more in line with a straight up web duel

I would keep with the low tier guns to kep yers tracking high.....in close the higher tracking will = more applied dps.

other than that I think I'll be trying something similar - the new tormentor is a great ship.

Just want to say GJ taking out a Merlin with that.

Its not the best ship for the job, and I am impressed.

Thanks. Just killed a claw too but it's not showing up on Eve Kill for some reason. It's a great fit but the lasers still don't track great. Had to hit approach and keep at range in order to finish off the claw. Could be my low skills. Btw, does Drone Sharpshooting help much? Looking to bump up my DPS anywhere I can.

Yes. All the drone skills are very helpful for applying drone dps (which is a significant part of the Tormie).

Also, tracking a claw would be hard, its a ceptor (would love to see the KM once its up). Even with great tracking witch lasers don't have.

Except I downgraded the small armor repairer to make it fit and I'm orbiting at 500 with Imperial Navy Multi to make the TD even more effective. Just lost my ship after engaging a dram on a gate while his corp mates were waiting on the other side lol. Oh well. Still learning.
