The Power of Two Deal

So I made another account for a friend with this deal. The only problem is when the power of two account was made (went through the power of two link in order to ensure that nothing is messed up) it said the account was disabled even though it should have 6 months attached to it. Ok, so we figured we needed to add a payment plan to it and we would get the 6 months for free... I did this with my paypal account and was charged the 14.95 on top of the 49.95 and still have yet to receive the free 6 months on the account... (says it expires in a month). Is this how it is supposed to work or did CCP make a big mistake on my account? Also, just to verify that I purchased the right thing I noticed my bill says 0 dollars for the purchase of eve and 49.95 for the 6 months...

The Power of 2 special offer is back! From now until Sunday, July 22, 2012, you will be able to create a new account with 180 days of game time for the low price of €49.95 or 3 PLEX.

This deal is basically saying you can get 6 months for the price of 3.
Not 6 months free.
It says nothing about 6 months free anywhere in that description.

If yea think there's a problem with it then I dunno if postin on the forums is the right way to go to get it fixed. Send in a ticket in game to support to have someone look into it would be my guess on what to do. Ive never done it though, perhaps someone else will have better advice.

did you create a new account or actually follow the power of 2 links in account management?

infact scratch that, i just realised you're using monopoly money hence why the amount you paid looked wrong...
no actually, are you sure you did it right because when i made mine it asked for payment details to make the account and hence already had a payment plan on upon creation.

If you made the payment plan, after the character was activated, you goofed up. I would definetly petition this and tell CCP your intentions, and how things went awry. Of Course maybe better understanding your situation some, will make the petition look better.

I followed the power of 2 link on the eve screen (where you hit play). It sent me to a page that required me to sign in and create a new account. As I also stated when purchasing the power of two account it stated that the actual account was 0 dollars and then showed the game time which cost money. After payment I received a receipt for this whole transaction from paypal and ccp but the account was disabled and required me to set up a payment plan (which it charged me).

On a side note I did put in a petition explaining everything I just previously stated and here was their response.
"If your subscription has lapsed, you will need to resubscribe. Here are two useful pages on your various options when it comes to re-activating your account:"

I am glad the GM actually took the time to read my petition which was even titled POWER OF TWO FREE MONTHS PROBLEM...
Man, are my jimmies rustled!

Also, for those that think I did this wrong,

1 x Secondary account signup @ 0.00 USD = 0.00 USD
1 x 6 Month EVE subscription @ 49.95 USD = 49.95 USD
TOTAL = 49.95 USD

BTW, it does say 6 month... yeah, you were wrong buddy.

Ah sorry I was considering it 6 months free because I figured the game was 50 dollars my bad. That still doesn't change the fact that I got 0 months on the account... I don't understand why everyone is ignoring that fact and trying to focus on the fact that I figured I got 6 months of eve for 50 dollars + the game.

I found the problem. My eve account is showing that the payment 1 x Power of 2 $49.95 Failed but paypal pulled the money from my account, emailed my a payment confirmation and paid it... Now I have no idea if it is Paypal or Eve's problem.

Well, in some other mmo's when you get free game time you have to have an active CC sub on file so that in the hopes you forget to cancel your payment setup they make money after the free time runs out. That's why I thought that.

Problem solved I called Paypal to confirm that the payment went through and it did. Now I just have to wait for a CCP GM to actually read the petition instead of posting a copy / paste reply.

That's against the rules, btw. It's pretty clear it's a 2nd account for yourself, not a buddy.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I'm having a similar problem. I just tried to sign up for the power of 2, but my payment failed for some reason and it gave me no chance to try again. Instead it went ahead and created the second account, immediately disabled it with no game time on it, and now I can't try to use that same account name to try and sign up for power of 2 again or check that my payment information was correct, as the subscription plan screen was replaced by "Undo Cancellation".

I submitted a petition to correct this, but since my "new" account has no in-game characters (because I never had a chance to use it) I can't even check the petition number I was given within the petition system to see its status.

It seems strange to me, if a payment for an account creation failed, that CCP's system would go ahead and create that account *anyway* and immediately disable it rather than give the person paying a screen notifying of the failure and the option to try again and/or change payment information. If the initial payment failed, why create the account? It's unnecessary. It also seems backwards that they'll let an account with no in game characters submit a petition but not allow them to check its status.

Now I'm stuck with a second account I can't use, with no game time, and I'm not even sure if they'll try and run my card again to activate the power of two deal I tried to get in the first place.

CCP, the petition system is good and all, but sometimes it helps to have a Online or Phone rep to deal with, at a minimum, *BILLING ISSUES LIKE THIS* in a timely manner. That way I know what's going on instead of having to twiddle my thumbs and wonder if my payment is run again or not, or even if I will still get the Power of 2 deal. What?
