I have never played Diablo, but I am surprised to find out it is bad enough to kill someone.

If you do just about ANYTHING for 40 hours straight you're likely to die. If you go jogging for 40 straight you'd probably keel over before you hit the 40 hour mark.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

I've been breathing for the past 27 years and that hasn't killed me.

Well that is an extremely obvious one. This silly idiot could have avoided death quite easily & played for another 40 hours had he at least consumed water over the course, did some movement every couple of hours (Going outside for a smoke counts) & going pee pee when needed.

That's because you're taking small pauses. Try doing nothing but ventilating for 40h straight. Granted, you'll fall unconscious long before 40h so you won't be able to keep it up, but still…

Also, he wasn't using an open terminal at the internet cafe. He had rented a private room there, so it's not like there was anybody else around to watch him or see what might have happened.

They have those? Ugh... I can't imagine how disgusting those rooms must be.

With some modification, this removes that problem.

I work with a guy who spends 10 hours at his PC, he replaced his chair with a recumbent bike with the console detached (but still functional) and is in much better shape from just casually pedaling whenever he feels like it.

Back in Uni I did a 72 hour gaming session without sleep or food (poor student) and just water from the taps in the uni computer rooms sink. I then went back to my room and packed my stuff for my father to pick me up for the summer.

I didn't die (I didn't finish my degree but thats another story) and was probably awake 4 days total. I did however have things crawling at the edge of my vision.

This was the day of MUD's so I had to think the whole 72 hours too, not press lmb over and over and maybe rmb and 1, 2, 3

Well Ive been sleep deprived before to the point where I heard things like dogs barking under my bed and water droplets coming from my ceiling. Thing is, I had enough sense to know this was a result of me averaging 2 hrs of sleep per night while working crazy hours.

I knew I needed to get good rest and did so. That idiot didnt pay attention to what his body was telling him and paid the ultimate price for it. Its sad but I cant really feel sorry for him

If my son got the same problem i just trou his pc out of the window and smash all his games so he will learn to respect real life. You need to balance your hobby not overcome it.

Look guys, if you don't space your poopsocking eve, dota 2, and minecraft sessions with at least a few hours of socializing, or at least putting on your ipod and headbanging the **** out to some obscure folk-power-death-metal band and techno music from the 90s, well I just don't know what to tell you, expect something similar to happen to you.

Remember kids: poopsocking is dangerous.

So... how many have died from EVE marathons?

**Playing EVE at times feels like putting a 10000 piece puzzle together, enjoying the accomplishment of succedding in completing it, then having some random stranger walk by and flip your table over. **

3 days without water, give or take 12 hours depending on how they have previously treated themselves.
7 days is average for no food, but if done properly, you can survive up to 2 weeks with next to no nourishment.

i think in genral its the rule of 3

3 mins no air

3 days no water

3 weeks no food

= death .

tho not in all cases as people have gone longer
