Navy Mega - Setup Advice

Hello space penguins!

I'm after a bit of advice if I may regarding a Navy Mega for station games. Been playing around with one over the last few weeks and I'm pretty happy with my setup, but as far as mid slot configuration goes I'm looking for a bit of insight from those willing to placate my childish and ever wondering mind!

My mid slots currently go: Scram, Web, Target Painter, Heavy Cap Booster (guard against neuts y'see)

My question is this: is the target painter actually adding anything or would I be better off with dual webs?

I'm using T2 Neutrons w/ Fed Navy Antimatter.

Skills are mostly 5 in gunnery support, full 5% hard wirings too if that makes a difference :)

Thanks

Dual 15km webs can do wonders, just get some boosting and those things will just make your targets stand still ducks ready to get blown up.
If you can afford 3 Faction MFS your dps will just be awesome. (and you should be able to use higher dmg ammo if closer with no dps loss due to tracking penalty on T2 ammo)

I wouldn't bother with dual webs unless you have zero support. Station games or not, you need an MWD. Target painter is a waste.

A megathron with no MWD is no good to anyone.

Out of interest, would people generally go with a Vindi or Navy Mega for station games?

I can't help but think that with the Navy Mega you get a 5 slot buffer tank while also fielding 3 mag stabs? Then again the extra 12.5% damage bonus might give you a built in no penalty stacked mag stab meaning you don't really lose a low, you just gain a mid?

I think I just answered my own question Shocked.

'Navy' = more tank, imo. Which is always good in a station game.

Vindi has the same tank as a T1 Mega hull.
Imo it needs a seasoned support fleet or you need good intel at the gates to your home.

Also, you can field 2 Navy Mega's for the price of 1 Vindi.
I have owned both, never lost either, but the Fear Factor was way higher with the Vindi.
Vindi hull usually = bling modules as well.

Last thought. If I was calling primaries. Vindi is right there at the top of the list. Navy Mega, not so much.

I would be willing the shield nano fit a navy mega but the vindi is something special.

Yet a decently fitted Navy Mega is probably the closest hard hitting brutish thing after Vindi and if shield fitted, in optimal can spit close to Vindi DPS if all gank fitted.

I like this one for lulz:

110K EHP before any sort of boost and 0 implants, average resists so better have a decent logi pilot behind but dps/range quite nice. (1500DPS with Void with OP+Fall off 18.8Km)
Changing nanofibers for +MFS/TE will give you higher dps/range (+EHP because no structure penalty) but less mobility and never use this without tackle.
