How much would you pay for a name change?

Precisely the point. In a game in which 50% of characters seen are alts of an unknown main, "name and reputation" in actuality mean very little. Every alliance is full of spies. Hi sec PvP corps full of griefer alts from players for which one will never know their actual main. The core mechanics of the game insure that character deception is built into the game. Name means zilch 99.9% of the time.

Those that would try to change there name for "deception" would be seen in the "Alias" option. (Could also appear in the character search as well). The most notorious folks have their alts known already even today anyway. Not a valid argument against the option.

I have a purchased alt char with a horrible name...
would pay to change it for sure.

Well both sides are right at some points but it should be reasonable that you can change your name if:

-you buy character from bazar
-if you are an older player, and there was only one colum for name in that time. Now we have two colums (name surname).

So i propose: you can change your name ONE TIME ONLY. and thats it.

I posted my own idea with regards to this. I think it's very workable.

This is true. Some of us never had the opprotunity for a two-word name. Would have taken advantage if it was available back then. At least a one time offer for old vets would be fair IMHO.

Always been two names in EVE. At least since beta five or six something. Most people just didn't try to put a space in there.

Edit: Please people, as if being a known scammer ever stopped a scammer from making alts. You kids with your notions of fixed identity slay me sometimes.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

I would prefer characters associated with scams, piracy, anti-piracy and other character-defining actions were not allowed to hide easily after the fact.

No name changes.

Id pay given y name has already caused me grief in game due to getting shot at in a NRDS alliance due to some guy named the puppet master who is "the best scammer and ******* in EVE"

That I was supposed to know existed two years ago when I made this guy -.-

Yeah I didnt know being a scammer stopped you from being able to delete that character and create an alt

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.
