Oh, I entirely concede that point. No qualms there. The private investors are friends, one of which is on a rolling basis and the other which has been paid back.

3B is a trivial amount of ISK, we both know that - I know that trust is far more important. I could easily PLEX far more than that amount and not deal with the hassle, but I find it more fun to work for it this way.

I'm not religious, but I do believe in showing compassion; so that's a point we can agree on.

I hope so too, all I hope for the moment is that someone figures out what the hell is wrong with me!

I'll keep you updated, but if you email the address provided; it'll be far easier for me to stay in touch :-).

Some days ago I sent you an email to the email address provided but you did not reply.

I wanted to reply and let you know that I have downloaded the open source and installed it locally.

It is the best profit tool I've ever seen, of all the API readers out there, no competition.

Thank you so much for releasing it to the public.
I appreciate it :)

What the poster above me said.

I went and downloaded mysql server 2012 hoping that would solve everything... Sadly enough after installing it (took its time too :p) I only managed to open the database file int he install folder.

I'm still clueless as of what to do now, the readme states that I should import certain databases, but I'm afraid I don't really know much about all this, so I'm rather clueless as of what to do next.

Anyone who can/could write a small guide/set of instructions as of how to exactly get this working on your personal system would be held in very high regard.

So to the people who actually know how to fix it, please help! :D

Thanks in advance!

I would venture a guess and say it is dead. The new dev is missing and cannot be reached for possible health reasons and as far as I know has not paid back some investors from a previous bond. I don't have the details of the bond or business venture, only that VV had stated earlier that the return of his principal has not happened. Going from memory there but yeah, eveprofit.com is dead.

MrBrushar posted how to install it locally, then ingraciously deleted it but it can still be found on eve search easily enough, and if you run into problems there are many here who will help you through it.

Yes Kouryusei disappeared.

He did not pay his debt.
He did not reply eve mails on any of his known alts (but his corp has more than the known alts).
He also indicated RL email contact but he's also not replying on that one.

Draw your conclusions.

Isn't it great that we pushed for the project to be open-sourced instead of relying on a single developer or two to maintain it?

It's a shame the code is in PHP but I might take a stab at running it as a hosted service, at least I might run it for my corp.

The code is available here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/os-eveprofit/

Unfortunately the developers weren't that great, they weren't using the repository at all and I'm not sure what kind of source control tools they're using. I'll be hosting a copy of the source code on gitorious and if I have time, and if it's worth it, I'll be doing some documenting of it and trying to run it.

I'll post a code inspection/evaluation somewhere just so others know what they're getting into if they download this and try to host it themselves.

Well I was using my own local source control and using source forge to host. Been heavily involved with a war but have been looking at making the code better including helping people install the software seeing as I'm so terrible feel free to continue developing. I'm out and will continue to develop for my own install.

I only meant that the source control hosting that SourceForge provides should be used. If you don't like sourceforge, use github, bitbucket or gitorious or google code/project hosting.

Didn't mean it as a criticism of your work or your skills. I only expect open-source projects to always have a publicly available repository, a clear README, a NEWS and a ChangeLog file, etc. etc. :p

I'll fire up a new server later tonight and see if I can play with it. I was not watching the forums so I did not know about the project status.

If I can get it up and running properly, I'll open it up publicly.

I will likely need a new domain name though as I doubt we are going to be able to retrieve those domains.

I'll keep you guys posted. Should have some bandwidth this weekend.

So the code is gone from sourceforge, anyone have a copy of it? Awesome way to opensource the project; you get one piece of critcism (accidental too!) and you take down the project? Good job.

Ah, ok, thought I was just being blind and couldn't find it there!

Earlier in this thread a few links were posted to a copy of the source, it may still be relevant:

I have uploaded the PHP source code for the project here, http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/1sffP5cg5. The database structure is here, http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/1JEaAc0n8.Please feel free to download it and start using it yourself.

Actually I failed providing any installing HOWTO's but anyone who consider installing this should already know it:

1) It uses PHP and MySQL.
2) Unpack the two files
3) Setup the httpd.conf file
4) Import the database definition
5) Delete the trans_raw_1 table (!) Otherwise it will fail to create new users
