CCP should let their GMs telecommute. I'd definitely go for a job like this if it didn't involve dragging my family to Iceland.

No cubicles?! What if I want to play EVE on the job in "sneaky mode"? Everybody will see me!

Just move in a Stealth Bomber, Force-Recon, CovOps, or cloak-sub T3. Problem solved!

(Remember, EVE is REAL, after all.)

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

So should I start writing my CV to apply for a job in not so sunny Iceland? Or is my current customer service / IT Service Desk job in Australia with Logica going to keep me happy. Would someone from an IT Service Desk background (and with bachelors degree in computer science at RMIT (Melbourne) ) be of use in the Game Master's department at CCP?

How many people have considered packing up and heading to Iceland to work for their favourite game company?

I'm thinking that a Game Master position would be sweet, especially since I'm relatively patient and like writing in the forums and help channel. Perhaps I'd unleash ITIL standards and put problem management and incident management into the petition tools (if they are not there already).

Must start writing CV instead of playing EVE or Diablo III.

pro tip dude get out of logica...as you may or may not know we are being bought out by some canadian company (CGI) I`m based at thier head office in the UK ...and peeps are leaving the company in droves atm . Ugh

While answering petitions is obviously a priority, most GM's have a couple of EVE clients running while they work. The only thing I don't enjoy about the open space is the constant threat of being hit with a nerf bullet. Shocked

Any word if there will eventually be an expansion of GM positions in Newcastle?

I would love to work for a company like CCP but I would have them all creeped out by the first interview.

The Newcastle office is primarily involved with the development of DUST 514 so it is unlikely that any GM positions will be based there.
