POS Aggression Mix Up

So, we've been seeing this consistently. It seemed to have been ninja patched a few patches ago, but since Inferno, seems to have returned full force.

Scenario:

While defending a tower, your gunners man guns. You have friendly forces outside the shield fighting off the attackers too. Once the fight ends, the gunners relinquish control of the guns... only to find that the guns have gone SkyNet and randomly start blapping their own.

The theory we have is that the tower, upon relinquishing guns, fails to recognize ANY standings or states for a brief period, thereby targeting randomly anything nearby. This is irrelevant of POS settings (we always set our POSes up for no attack on aggression, and to only attack on the basis of standing being less than 1.0).

Rather hilariously the POS doesn't even recognize members of its own corporation or alliance - I've lost 5 ships myself to this, and my corpmates have lost numerous others - all of which have been reimbursed by CCP on petition. We have submitted numerous bug reports on the matter as well.

Don't you think it's high time that a proper fix is made for Sky Net POSes?

Bumping for attention. Has anyone else noticed a similar/same issue, or know a solid workaround?

A CCP response acknowledging the problem would also be appreciated.

Whole POS code needs an overhaul. Most of the settings are either nonsensical or counter-intuitive, or both, and results in esoteric behaviour noone would ever imagine or intend to happen.

Unfortunately the POS code isn't as shiny as inventorys and what-not so noone will dare touch it.

I can confirm though that relinquishing control of a POS module will leave it maintaining it's own "hate list", and best of all you will have no clue who it (or the POS) hates because there are no timers visible.

Confirming that only Koronakesh could love the current state of starbase firmware.
