I second that link. Now...if we could just figure out how many stone is a meter...are a meter? Any soccer fans around? Help us out here.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

ok i included a gallente fighter into the rendering:

Gallente Shuttle & Fighter Scale

and that was pretty revealing since the fighter has a little pilot sitting in the cockpit.
now the pilot is about 2 times the size of a normal human which means IF a person ingame is supposed to be human sized all the ships would actually be only half the size stated in most documents.

e.g. the gallente shuttle would only be 25 instead of 50 m and it would look something like that:

Gallente Shuttle & Fighter Corrected (Half) Scale

that way it looks much more believable to me

as i just said.. if the characters in eve are human sized this whole chart is completely wrong

flying in space engies are big things, for going ftl, maybe? honestly i don't think there's anything more offcial then what you see in the preview window.

also, great render.

And then look at the pod. It can do everything the shuttle can, minus the cargo space, Yet it's only 4m tall.

Makes you wonder how far advanced jove tech actually is.

Pods are also much slower and contain only one crewmember. I'd imagine the bulk of the shuttle would be the FTL engine + supporting systems, but that still suggests the pods are pretty advanced stuff.

But they're supposed to be.

That engine is unbelievably compact when you see the pod cracked open out on the balcony in CQ, but perhaps that's all the engine it needs for such a small vessel. And it's Jove.

Excellent to see that it worked. Kind of a shame that the in-game numbers are fudged, but hopefully the model sizes relative to one another would still be reliable.

Hmmm, yeah somethings not right with that sub-capital chart and the in-game scales. Even with the Caldari shuttle's broader area from the side it shouldn't be over twice the volume of the Amarr shuttle.

It's not twice the volume. What makes you say that? It's twice the length, which is consistent with what the chart shows (although it's hard to pick out all the tiny prongs at that resolution).

A rough visual estimate based on the length. I have to correct myself either way - after checking in-game, the Caldari shuttle is in fact substantially bigger than the Amarr one just as the chart shows. I'm honestly surprised at that, I thought they would've all been close to the same size.

I would say that CCP has just thrown those numbers without putting too much thinking into it, also because 1 km long ship sounds a lot cooler than, say, 200 meters. IMO all ships in EVE should be decreased in size (numerically-wise) by factor of 2, probably even more.

yeah by a factor of two sounds reasonable!

but then all those charts comparing eve ships to other movie/tv space ships would look much less appealing to us..

Remember Eve ships do attempt at electronic stealthing so anything remotely close to the signature radius size is wrong, even with capitols when electronic stealthing isnt an option for them and thier footprints are much larger than thier phsyical selves.

Also the sizes on the preivew can are a bit out of date and rapid generated from a database somone hasnt bothered looking up or updated in a long while.

Aside from that there are guestimates the actual numbers may be a long while before we get them all sorted out.

Instead of making ships bigger they decided to make the clones smaller. They adjusted the metric system a bit so nobody noticed.

So.. a gallente shuttle would be in fact as big as a RC plane with tiny clones in it.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
