So...they raised their drop rates? I don't really understand why the QQ. Explain it to those of us who don't play MMOs outside of Eve.

Darkfail is also a full loot death mmo. Raising drop rates allows people to re-equip faster. At least I'm assuming that is what his QQ is about.

Well, basically you have the same type of people that are in EVE who are always crying for everything to be easier, faster, now now now. Before, they had long term progression with minimal benefits, and the difference between noob and a vet was small, but because of the long term progression, there eventually became a gap between the players who developed their characters and those who didn't want to put forth the effort. Even though this gap was only the difference of 1-2 hits, the babies cried and cried untill AV (devs) increased the rate of progression. This was done a few times and Darkfall lost much more players than it retained, but not nearly to the extent as the latest patch. It will be intersting to see what happens to Darkfall now that character progression is merely a token effort that everyone must do to be equal character-wise to 99% of the population.

I would guess, that in all propability most people will continue not knowing that the game even exists and the ones who know about the game propably won't care that much either. I'm sure it's all serious business to you still playing, but I was honestly a bit surprised that the game wasn't dead. I mean actually dead and not have like a single server per region with pathetically low player numbers. Not saying DF is in that condition. I have no idea and haven't seen the sub numbers even tracked by any MMO site, so I assumed it didn't exist anymore

There is no advertising for the game, everyone who knows about Darkfall knows about it through word of mouth and forums and that. EVE at once started small and grew. Hopefully Darkfall will do the same. If EVE didn't have long term progression to keep people subconciously entertained and hooked, it prob wouldn't have a large pop either. Unfortunately for DF, they abandoned their long term progression. A part of me hopes the game dies just to prove the crybabies wrong and a part of me wants it to succeed because its an indy game and has better pvp than any mmorpg in existence. It will be interesting to see what happens either way.
