A corp asking for a "security deposit" always = scam.

You deserved this one for being a complete idiot...

Should've checked around bro, it's not like there are a few pages dedicated to "How to join TEST".

I was Scammed wrote:
So there i was growing bored of high sec and looking for something a little more exiting/worth my time.

Along comes a guy from a corp called 'we lock reds die' and starts selling me his pitch, according to him, the corp is a training corp for TEST Alliance.

He tells me everything i want to hear, and stupidly i believed him and wanted to join.

Even more stupidly, i fall for the 'we'll bring your stuff in for you' line. Dunno why i fell for it as im usually pretty alert, maybe the fact it was a corp in a big alliance that got me a little distracted.

Result was approx 3b of my stuff and a few hundred millions for a security deposit. - Go ahead flame me, i deserve it for being dumb.

I just want to get it out there that this corp is in no way affiliated with TEST Alliance, at all, period.

http://www.welockredsdie.bravehost.com/index.html < fake website doesnt even work.

I dont want my stuff back, i wouldnt give them the satisfaction of asking.

They are a corp full of scammers, all of them alts or mains i dunno or care anymore, its quite easy to tell when you go to Evewho and look up their corp.

http://evewho.com/corp/We+Lock+Reds+Die

Seems every memeber of their corp is a recruiter/logistics/hr/JF pilot or and mix of the above when looked up in game.

Dont let these scammers profit anymore from gaining your trust then blocking you when they get what they want.

lastly - THIS CORP IS FAKE, HAS NO TIES TO TEST ALLIANCE AND EVERY MEMBER IS A SCAMMER!!!!!!

DONT BELIEVE A WORD THESE GUYS TELL YOU AND DONT BE ANOTHER VICTIM LIKE ME!!

You should have indeed exited, This wasnt worth your time.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

Normally, i'm really keen to get into chaps that screw up like this.

however, the lack of any whiney bitchness, makes me feel like being a little less agressive.

I have to say, he's doing the right thing by making this public, scams like this are kinda crappy. I doubt TEST would dec them,

It would not shock me if they were test alts.

three simple rules
1. Trust No One
2. Trust No One
3 Trust No One.

Embarrassment?

But the clue was there right from the start when they mentioned TEST lol

Chalk it down to experience op and carry on regardless.

Not much to be embarrassed about, happens to everyone at one stage or another weather they like to admit it or not, i lasted 6 years before i fell for a silly market scam due to my price filter being reversed.. I currently hold the record for buying the most expensive cyno gen in geminite, a cool 2.8bisk.... I got the money back thankfully cause the highest buyer happened to be an alliance member at the time lol i got lucky.

Also whats to be embarrassed about? The internet people you dont know, have never met and wont have any feasible/known interaction with outside a fictional game, thinking your silly? :P

Incorrect, I've never been scammed in my 5 years of EVE.

I love how everyone here slags people off for falling for a scam as though they are totally thick for believing something designed to be believed in. Not everyone has played this game for 8 years, not everyone has had as much experience with large corp politics and I can damned well guarantee that not everyone reads every forum, blog and news article about every little thing that goes on. This game is complicated, it's why we love it, but it can be overwhelming to those of us without a well seasoned knowledge of the ins-and-outs and that's why these scams are so common. Don't be so naive as to think that only stupid people fall for this, it just highlights your own stupidity....

Props to the OP for bringing these guys to my attention otherwise, after my fleeting 'Google' search turned up nothing, I may have been had too. As someone who's never been part of a large alliance before, it's a convincing scam (although I didn't actually get to the whole 'give me your **** and money' part which would probably have set alarm bells ringing). The depth of effort they've gone into setting stuff up is pretty impressive, they're not in the alliance but the explanation made sense to me and what's more, they're openly using TEST alliance chat channels and members who are in TEST alliance. To know that these large alliances are potentially going to scam you, you either need to have been scammed by them before or have read about it somewhere. If those two circumstances haven't hit you thus far in your career then frankly I don't understand how that makes you 'stupid'.

It's funny how most people are trying to be positive and offer encouragement. Then here comes the Goonswaffe a collection of infamous d-bags that always have something negative to say. They are proud that they routinely scam people. Thank goodness karama usually balances things out.

Many people get scammed. It doesn't make them dumb, or bad Eve players.

You pick yourself up and move on.

Test, Goons and EXE all tried to scam me today lol. When I told them I wasn't handing over anything the TEST rep got all offended. Goons even brought in their "Chief recruiter" to close the deal. Like those guys that sell kirby vaccums. It was hilarious.

OP

All i want to say is thank you for the heads up on these guys they are still trying to recruit players and it took me a whole 1.5 minutes to search the forums for these guys because of your post I did not fall for their recruitment.

They clearly state they are members of Test which they are not.
