I am sick and tired of my sockets being closed while playing EVE. Ever since the recent update to 1.1 it has been nothing but trouble. I have ran 3 accounts on one comp before without any trouble loosing connection before 1.1 and now this **** exists.

CCP fix this issue >:(

Yeah, same here. I'll leave three accounts logged in cloaked or what not, get home from work, and with out fail, every account has been disconnected. This is a new problem w/ 1.1.

There's nothing to "hahaha" about.

First we got a nice lag bonus with this expansion, secondly this game is intended for you to play/have an alt account. What's the point of "hahaha" vs people normally playing the game.
You should "hahaha" those using 8,10,20,30 accounts. Not regular players you silly skinny ass Lol

This is not a new issue it has been around since inferno was released. There is a thread about it in the tech help section where this belongs as well. And it does not only hurt AFK players. Active players, me with only 1 client have been getting socket closed disconnects while actively playing the game. Cost me several ships already and CCP claims no responsibility for these.
They say it is the ISP's fault not CCP's. So how come all of a sudden so many people are having issues CCP? People that never had a problem before with their ISP. But after inferno a CCP change to the server this problem occurs a lot and suddenly it is not CCP's fault? Really guys look into this already. It is related to your frame rate issues I bet. The code is unstable and at some point creates an infinite wait state which causes a disconnect.

the fix to closed socket: do a hard reset on your modem. not a unplug and plug back in. but reset using the reset button us a small pin or pensle and reset while on. then turn off modem and turn back on.

in battle anything can happen. in war everything will happen

It's not the player's ISP, it's CCP's ISP. Somehow, the connection is being closed at the source on CCP's end (most likely by some kind of automatic monitoring process designed to stop DDOS attacks and the like). It's truly not CCP's fault -- they don't own or operate the ISP itself.

It is a CCP problem despite whats going on with ISPs. Consider: When you get a "socket closed" what do you do? Relog as fast as you can. And it works: You quickly are reconnected. Why does this not happen automatically, seamlessly? As soon as the client detects the socket closed, it opens a new one. TS does it. Try it. Connect to TS, unplug your ethernet or turn off your wireless. TS will say "connection lost". Now reconnect the ethernet or turn on the wireless. In seconds TS will say "connected" and even move you right back to the same channel you were in.

CCP has not written such functionality into the client and server, and that is their failing.

If you want to go all in you'd run wireshark or the likes on the client connection to see what the absolute last packets are, or what type of packets were sent/received just before it closes. Major work and pain, but would easily show if it's the client sending data and never getting any response, or if it's a sudden disconnect from CCP's side.

I've been having 5 accounts running fine for the past 4 hours now, have rarely seen any closed sockets, so this may very well be bad/laggy routing as well.

Its just getting worse. Getting them all the time. Seems like i can hardly play for more than a few minutes without getting a socket closed. Never used to get them. Find a fix CCP!
