Gal fleets?

How do gallente fleets work? Is there an ideal Gallente fleet grouping?

So far I get the impression that the Caldari are all about range, missiles and shields.
Amarr, stand and deliver, let god take care of the rest.
Minmatar shoot first and be fast on your feet because your ships aren't the best and able to take a beating if slowed down.

Gallente are the Mike Tyson of Eve - get in, hit hard as hell and hope nobody brought a gun.

Station camping, gates, and warp to zero (very successful in asteroid belts and wormhole pvp).

Find someone on a gate or station, scram +web+overheat and pray. The gallente also have some 'skirmish ships' in the Talos, Navy Exequror and Navy comet. They can rival minmatar speed, but are still limited by blasters. With few exceptions, people will point and laugh if you fit rail guns (though I think they are viable since patch).

Unless people are out on a fun suicide roam with gank Thorax and Vexors, you simply won't see gallente fleets...

Just like any other race fleet.....play to their strengths.

If you have Gallente ships you want to get a scram+web, everyone burns to the target and melts it. Just a different play style but no less viable than any other really. With a good tackle group with your fleet you shouldn't have any problems. Also Gallente can run awesome active tanked ships: x3 Rep Myrm as well as Neut+RR Domis. They are fun to fly actually.

Are they only used in small and medium sized fleets? Like say 5-10 .. or 10-20...

Am i blind newb or do they get used as a main ship type much in those huge fleets that are always getting talked about? As opposed to say Minmatar or Caldari or even Amarr..?

They get used in all sorts of engagements. Just depends on what the FC calls for in a fleet and what method you are using to engage your targets. If you are gate camping or even hot dropping within close range of your targets Gallente blaster boats would be great as they deal great damage up close. The only fleet setup that I would think a Gallente doctrine would not be used would be for long range fight.

A pure Gallente fleet can be fielded, it just requires godlike levels of micro-management and precision to pull off, first you need a swarm of frigs to lock your opponents in place, a buffer of EWAR ships about 50km AWAY from the battle to sensor damp/ruptor/etc, a Horde of drone ships around 70km AWAY from the battle and lastly a load of blasterboats to warp to zero in the middle of the enemy fleet once all other elements are in play.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Oh wait, the sarcasm.... I get it.

So other than a off hand comment what advice/information do you have to add to the OP? Or are you just trolling around atm?

My serious advice for the OP - don't fly Gallente fleets, Gallente boats (especially blaster boats, and gallente rail ships are generally subpar to other races sniping ships) are terrible at fleet pvp with the exception of the few specialized support ships (and you couldn't make a whole fleet do anything useful out of those specialized support ships).

Other then a select few ships, gallente ships are pretty useless...

Gallente FW even ditch their ships for Caldari and Minnie ones...

Kiting fleets won't work without a Lachesis
Proteus has the best tank / dps of the armor T3s + incredible point range

So yes, many fleet doctrines aren't complete without some gallente input so saying they aren't "fleet" ships is simply wrong

Also Moros says hi o/

Thinking galente ships are slow and brawl only is pointing to RP bullshit which is not truth ... half of my gal ships I have in hangar are shield tank kiting bitches. Dont field RP based fleets ... it is really not working. Once u meet pvp oriented fleet (mixture of races and ships) u will be ****** badly.
