"MF Chribba I" because it's cool

"Hilmar Fate I" -because this would probably make some dudes gank it no matter the cost just for internets satisfaction Lol

I don't think the ore frigate should be named after chribba.

If we are talking the lore of New Eden, why would ORE name a ship after a capsuleer that would be one of their competitors.

Now honouring Chribba i have no issue with. But i think a better honour would be to have a large collidable object which is a full size model of his veldaught in a belt he mines in (Amarr i think). Put another tourist site on the map.

As for the argument of whether players should be in Eve lore, of course they should in the lore the invention of pods and clone vats was supposed to be revolutionary to the history of New Eden so why should they not continue to be so.

It is not unprecedented i can think of the following (which may or may not be true, may just be in my head)

1) I think there used to be a mission description that mentioned m0o corp (which was a player corp)
2) I think there is memorial to Cyvok titan loss, which was the first titan to be built and well as the firt titan to be destroyed.
3) I think they changed the Jita memorial after the burn jita event.

All of these are player made content that has been integrated into the Eve Lore, and long may it continue as having a single sharded game makes these things possible.

Guys.... It's great that we find alternative ways to honor Chribba, but the OP is asking CCP to name the new ORE ship as Chribba because it costs CCP literally "nothing" to do so.

If you guys disagree with it, then it's ok, but asking for an alternative way to honor Chribba including "erecting super monument in Amarr" or "the creation of a new Chribba mining module" is highly not viable since it takes hundreds of man labor hours to meet those request while CCP is already resource-constrained.

I dont think this is any work - the model, textures etc already exist, im sure the veldaught is not invisible when it undocks.

I do not see why it can't be named after Chribba. Immersion breaking my arse, Chribba is the in game name for a character that's done a ridiculous amount for EVE. In game he's THE person to go to for massive purchases as a 3rd party, he is one of very, very few people that you can trust as a stranger in game and his mining exploits in game are legandary. In game he has the only mining veldnought in existence and most know about it.

I am not **** sucking here, the cold truth is in game he's worthy of it let alone the out of game stuff he's done.

Call it the Habbirc. A variant spelling of the term 'hauberk', it is indicative of the increased protection afforded to the ship by ORE. Blink

The Modulated Strip Miner II uses many of the same frequency modulatin crystal technology as the Modulated Deep Core Miner II exept it lacks the deep core mining capacity of its smaller sibling.

Uses mining crystals.

Cannot fit a mercoxit mining crystal.

24% Extra yeild when fitted with veldspar mining crystal.

Note: 99.5% less CPU usage when fitted on a Dreadnought.

Suggesting a name for a ship that is already in the designing process is one thing, but having to create a single module from a scratch would require hundreds of CCP employees' hundreds of thousands of labor hour.

At the moment, I think having a ship named after Chribba is a more feasible choice.

Confirming that it would take a third of the companies workforce 6+ months to copypaste a module

It takes nearly a month for CCP to resolve a simple ingame mistake. I am being very conservative when I say these stuff.

Well of course its taking them a month to fix a simple in game mistake, they are in the process of designing a new ship which requires 90% of the workforce all working 23 hour days for the next 2 years to complete.

Only because of past patching procedures. They can whip out changes every other day now for actually "simple" problems.

If Chribba named this frigate as you request, I wonder what name he would choose.....

Also its better English to say

Chribba, name the new unnamed ORE frigate.

In that case you misunderstood the title.

I meant it to come across as: "CCP, give the new mining frigate the name 'Chribba'".

Not: "CCP, let Chribba name the new mining frigate".

But, the latter would also be a good idea.

Confirming the imminent release by ORE of the "Mintchip" - a dedicated mining frigate...

EDIT:
I wonder if it would attract ganks the same way the "Hilmar" would???
