Out of Pod Experience

tl;dr - Stop dumping all the meaningless threads all over my lawn!

Someones come up with a new idea for a thread. Its a delightfuly relevant topic the OP thinks, I shall endevaur to share my revelation with the public at large!

Rapidly making his way to such open forums as General Discussion, the OP creates his topic and postulates his wisdom. Perhaps not well penned as his original idea was to his own mind, perhaps the world not ready for such esoteric thought, the ISD wisely decides this is not the place for such debate.

ISD then promptly throws the topic to Out of Pod Experience, safe in the knowledge that the forums are properly categorised and moderated.

I would just like to put my thoughts to this, and request that if such well thought out topics are to end up here that they have some coherence, and are not simply using this branch of the forums as a catch-all "wasn't to do with my section". A few weeks ago we had a thread discussing religion, and the debate was in fact mature and thought out as far as I could tell. As per the rules, the thread was rightly banned as it was discussing a very delicate topic that CCP wishes to take no side in.

Hoever that thread did exist, for days before anything happened, and if the near toxic topic of an internet debate on religion goes unmolested for days, does this not show how little moderation in general goes on in OOPE, regardless of quality and maturity og the topic?

Would it be possible for there to be a designated part of the forums for chucking miscellaneous topics that was independent of things not related specification to Eve itself?

Honestly, if I hadn't been banned a few times, i'd apply to CCP to be an exclusive OOPE voluntary moderator.

Long ago, the ISD program was great, the social side to the moderators back then was something to behold, and thats what made ISD worth having besides official CCP moderators. I voiced my opinion several times wishing ISD return, and was overwhelmingly happy when I found out CCP was bringing ISD moderators back- Sadly it seems they've been indoctrinated to the lack-of-personality crew, and *nobody* who got accepted seems to have any interest in keeping OOPE's standards to any respectable level.

It just will not do.

I hope they move this topic to the General Discussion forum just to troll you.

P.S your not allowed discuss religion on the forums. Read the terms and conditions that you accepted.

I hope they find a way to surgically remove the stick you have lodged in there, seems to be causing some minor distress.

P.s he was comparing two situations in which the mods seem to be doing a lackluster performance in their jobs, one where a thread that should have been locked was left open for days [despite being reported by at least one person from day one] and when mods were moving threads here without checking [especially duplicate threads]

That was a great thread though!

They need to make a subforum of OOPE where politics and religion and other controversial crap gets dropped, along with the warning that any arguments from there that extend into other forums will get you forum-banned.

We have emotions. Believe me, we do.

Still doesn't make it ok to discuss moderation and bash us a bit though.

If you want standards, file a petition and we'll see to it that it gets done.

Other than that, locking this thread.
