You lose 1 level off a randomly selected skill from the 5 subsystem skills that relate to the ship you lost. (eg caldari subsystem skills when you lose a tengu).

I know it's randomly selected and not the highest trained as my electronics went from 4 to 3 while all the others stayed at 5.

EDIT: yes both pvp and pve. if you are in the ship when it explodes then you lose. Ejecting prevents the loss if you are quick enough to do it.

Why? It's just part of the balancing. Risk vs reward. Use a powerful ship and risk losing skill points (Although they are all rank 1 skills so only take 3-4 days to retrain back to 5)

You lose 1 level of one of the subsystem skills. I had 3 pilots popped in a Tengu's so far and each of them lost a different skill, offensive, electronics and propulsion. It supposed to be random. As to why... because CCP can Blink but its only 3-5 days to get it back.

Not enough of a penalty, I say. Nerf it to the ground!

More of an annoyance really. Although losing Engineering 5 would suck hugely. My poor Covert Legion needs every second of Cap and every MW of grid in my current fit. Twisted

AWU 5 can't happen soon enough.

If 3-4 days of lost training time is really that much of a calamity, you can always eject once it becomes evident that you're going to die, and you won't lose any skills.

Of course, this risks giving your enemies a free T3 Big smile
