You too can be LEET - Exploit revealed

To CCP moderators rushing to shut down this thread. This is not really an Exploit - as confirmed by the GMs in my petition number 2932689. This is perfectly legal and working as intended. I'm just using the word EXPLOIT to attract attention. So nothing to see, please move along.

To the rest of you, this is about removing your loss mails from the killboards. I'm sure plenty of people will wade in here and say 'everyone' knows this, but I didn't and a significant number of RvB pilots didn't who are the most active PvP corp in Eve according to CCP. We have debated it at some length after not one but two 3rd Party Command ship kills failed to appear recently.

This revolves around the Mechanic Skill = +5% Bonus to structure points. Most people will get this to level 5 early on, totaling +25% bonus

So you are in a fight and going down in a big (expensive) ship with loads of structure points. You reach under 20% structure and you eject.

What happens? The mechanical skill being removed from the ships lowers the structure points of your ship to a negative value. The ship instantly pops and because it wasn't destroyed by a recognised method no loss mail is generated, not for the victim or the victor.

I tested this with a noob ship tonight. Shot it to 11 structure points and then stopped firing. The other pilot ejected, the ship popped and no loss mail was generated. Try it yourself.

[Forum Warrior 1] U Mad Bro?

Well yeah actually, I am a bit.

[Forum Warrior 2] Can I hazz your stuff

No man, I'm not quitting, I've just learnt how to game the system, so I can be leet too.

[Forum Warrior 3] But you just gave the game away man.

Don't worry less than 1% of players will see this post. We can all still screw them.

Huh, that shouldn't be surprising. Pretty sure you still lose SP for T3s FWIW.

Folks have been doing this for a pretty long time with their T3s and Capitals. Killmails are serious business among the unwashed masses of pubbie filth.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

Use of the word exploit just to get attention is rather annoying...

The potential exploit would be if you got insurance from it though (since you are no longer in it). Not sure though if that happens.

Hay guise, did you know that if you find an abandoned ship, take it for a joyride, leave it where you found it, and someone pops it later, its considered yours?

this is a method for being exactly the opposite of leet.

If you want to be leet, load up your cargo with Male dancers, Dolls and drugs and let that killmail find its way.

Truly leet people do not fear lossmails, as they know a lossmail only serves to prove their leet ship fitting abilities and vast welth.

Aren't you the dude who dumps his T3s into an orca so you don't lose them when the fight goes sour? Roll

Correct. Im 'the dude' in eve who will try to save his ship from impossible odds, and simultaneously causing the formation of lacrimal fluid buildup.

Eve runs on a 1 second tick. You must be killing them really slowly if they can wait to hit ~20% hull and then eject without a problem.

Bring more DPS.

AFAIK, you don't get insurance payouts if a ship is destroyed after you eject. A price is paid, so this is nowhere near as bad as you make it sound.

In fact, you inflict GREATER damage when someone does this than if you had acquired a killmail. The only time a killmail would be important is if they are flying some sort of super sekrit fit.
