What would make eve, really polished?

1. Ship customization. It really feels odd that corps let alone individuals don't customize their ships. I'm not asking for massive visual mods, cause that could affect people's PCs. No I am asking for the ability to paint the ships what ever color I want, and have the Corp and Alliance logos on them. This will also allow Goonswarm and Test to finally have the pink ships they always wanted. P

2. WiS. Give it purpose, right now it does **** all except make my Laptop run slower. Allow people to set up shops inside, and have FPS/TPS battles for stations in Null Sec. These battles would allow a corp or alliance to take a station if they win them. Corps/Alliances would need to hire militia or other npcs to protect the stations. Players would also be allowed to defend the stations. Reason for NPCs? So corps and alliances have at least some kind of chance to protect their **** when they are away. Hell the exotic dancers and dogs, and all of the other items that are people could be used to enhance these stations. Dogs to help the guards and the dancers for some eye candy or something.

3. Fix or remove low sec. Right now it really feels out of place. It has the cons of both Null and High sec, and as far as I can see, none of the benefits. Frankly I would remove it entirely, and have that space become high and null sec. The systems close to high sec right now, would become high sec themselves, and the rest becomes null sec.

That is all, for now.

1) listening to community , be it test server, threadnaughts or a yet to come feature tracking system.

2) not diverting a huge amount of work force on risky projects while eve is falling apart.

3) dont't fix what is not broken.

First, bugs are always the biggest thing that detracts from the polish in a product. I'll ignore those because it's obvious.

1. WIS is kinda useless until there's mutiplayer parts of the stations. More fluid animations with better range of controls would help out a lot here. Also, boarding actions and bar room brawls in station FTW.
2. A review of the more painful parts of the UI would be a great idea. Things like POSes, Corp Mgmt, etc are simply unacceptable and always have been. I think a better choice is to move that to an app in Eve-Gate and launch a browser instance.
3. Allowing more than F1-F8 for each rack would be a good idea, also consider how information like ship vectors, hit chance, etc can be visualized without relying on the overview.

I'm rather new to the game and the mechanics seems fine from what I can tell. Most of my issues are all appearance and immersion issues. Not even been playing a week, but here goes;

- More station interaction; being able to leave your Captains Quarters and walk around an actual station with other players would be lots of fun. It'd break up the space travel a little and add immersion; it'd also be a good place to show off your new outfits and a reason for them to impliment more. I'm sure this wouldn't appeal to everyone though; and it'd also demand higher requirements.

- I can change the weapon, modules, and whatever else on my ship, but I can't change its look? Everyone wants something personal to them, and a toon in a pod that you hardly ever see isn't enough. For the most part your ship is your identity, so why not let us paint it or write "Jessie" across the hull like most boat Captains? I don't know.. maybe that's something for the AUR store?

- Change the UI. It's boring and there's nothing about it that screams this is the future. I'm quite partial to the Crysis 2 UI. It's sleak and it rotates around the screen as you move. Obviously it's not entirely practical, so play with it.. or even have an option for those old school players who are afraid of change to go back to the old, dull system.

That's all I can really think of right now.. and I'm about to dock!

1: More realistic zero G physics.
2: Real scaled incomes Low risk - Low income up to High risk - High income with lowsec being recognised as a viable play style with personal and corp level incomes.
3: Get rid of bumping. Its dumb.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

1. Vigilante flagging system. Allow +5 people to kill -2 sec status in high sec. This includes finishing Crimewatch and the suspect flagging system.

2. Remove jumpfreighters. No highsec highway between different Empire spaces except if they are allied. Gallente-Minmatar Caldari-Amarr. This will make logistics and transport a real specialization.

3. Finish Incarna. I want my character to walk around in stations and interact with NPCs and tip exotic dancers with isk bills.

4. A way to find cloakers / nerf cloaking.

5. Nerfing or changing ECM.

I broke the limit. But thats what I really want.

Actually - you can.

The thing is....no matter how much you polish it, a turd...is still a turd.

1) Ship camo customization
2) Planets actually orbit
3) Ships explode in a cooler way - many types, from an explosion followed by many small ones or the opposite, or ships exploding and 2 big pieces drifting away etc.

1) Customizable UI - other MMO's for years have entire scripting languages so users can make the UI look like they want- why would 4 different races and hundreds of ships all have the same (lousy) screen setup?

2) More outer-rim space: sov-less stationless with no local, just the real deep-space. Space so big you can get really really lost, and can't just check dotlan.

3) More npc objects- stations should have shuttles and other things flying around, gates have more than just a few concord ships, etc. Let the flavor fit the situation- ie big mining and refinery station should reflect it more. A big military station should have more warships of that empire coming and going. Space narwhals, giant space squids, etc.

toss in 2 more..

4) More backstory items/sites that are relevant, not just landmarks. Not a formal defined mission story arc, again, that can't just be looked up on some web site.

5) Evolving world in Empire. Why not have the Amarr retake most of Minmatar? Why not have a bunch of gates destroyed by incursions? This kind of thing could change weekly... again it would make everything less static. Have Ice belts vanish and respawn randomly. Faction Warfare is a tiny start in this direction, but the OP asked for what would make it polished.

Inferno: almost as fun as chewing used medical syringes.
