Yes, it's a scam and you should be able to see how it works. Just open your eyes and read what the contract says. *

(Really I should get into scamming. People obviously buy everything.)

* Edit: Well, unless you're colorblind. Then I'll give you a hint, because it's a bit of an unfair competition.

First Rule: If you ask yourself "is this a scam, or is this a deal?" and are logged into EVE the answer always is "SCAM!!!!!!"
Second Rule: Public contracts are mainly used for transporting and SCAM's.

This contract actually states all important informations in green and red. Means u pay 320mill AND 1xPLEX and u will get 1xPlex.

bye

PS: Ask yourself, why would anyone use a contract to sell PLEX over Jita market orders?

just to finish discussion:
1. contract offers you PLEX
2. contract wants you to pay 320mils --- AND ---- PLEX (see last part of the contract window)

So after all you need to have PLEX to accept this contract and all you get from it: you just give 320millions to contractor.

This!

I never ever scammed anyone in eve yet, but a 2008 char asking that kind of question might make me reconsider... seems to be rather easy.

In defense of OP, I was in the same situation; I just knew it was a scam but simply couldn´t see how till someone told me.Oops

Still, "if it is too good to be true, it is a scam"... OP assumed correctly here!

I can't imagine it being very effective, You rely on someone being stupid and having a plex.

This scam is actually effective, assuming you have the devotion (or automation as I've noticed some use) to continuously spam local.

Look at the contract history of the scammer in question. Brand new character and got at least one bite. Not just him, either. Next time you're in Jita, check the contract history of some of the other contract scammers (normally these guys are posting in local as a different character from the one who issued the contract).

Always bet on stupid.

that one took me a minute to figure out the first time I flew around jita, because someone evidently felt that "here's what you'll pay" and "here's what you'll get" was too easy and that throwing in an extra "oh and you'll also pay this" at the bottom was a better design

of course, the answer to "is this a scam?" is literally always yes

Ask yourself this: after complete the requirements of the contract, will i get the item i want?

If the answer is yes, then it’s not a scam. And if after accepting the contract you find the price was not the one you thought it was, then it’s your fault for not paying attention.

Please people, have some personal responsibility.
