A Problem with Planetary Interaction

Nothing happens when I click on or hover over the icons for colony structures placed on the planet. I know that a small blue hologram showing what the structure looks like should appear, along with a menu for actions the structure can perform. I have tried looking at tutorials, but all simply say that all you need to do is click on the icon.

Is there a solution for this? I am on a 2009 Macbook Pro, in the event that matters. Thank you very much in advance.
