Say I have a tornado Fitted with 1400 Galiums (For example) Loaded with Arch Phased Plasma

I warp into a situation at what range from the target and fire? For the most damage?

IE, What range should I put my ship at to get the highest level of Volley damage in my alpha per hit?

Also, to get your optimal range and falloff of any turret, after you load the ammo into your turret you can right click on your turret and click show info. This will display the optimal range, etc. of your turret, with the loaded ammo.

Roughly to answer your question, 1400's with phased has optimal of ~35 w/ ~70 falloff, depending on your skills/ship. Thus, in this situation, you would want to warp in at 35 to get maximum damage from your alpha shot.

I doubt you would want to do this though... at that range your going to get owned by anything that looks at you funny :-/

mate, do rep fleet ammo. More damage and cost less.

Also, press info on your guns. Tracking is horrible so if they have a propmod and is pressing anything but apporoach on you you'll miss.

Bear in mind also that when you warp to 0 at a station you land at the edge of docking radius so if you warp to the station at 35km you could end up like 70km from someone sitting on the undock. Your best bet is to undock, stop ship, make a bookmark, warp off, then warp to that bookmark at your optimal range when the target presents itself. Your range with phased plasma/fusion/emp is gonna be 30-35km depending on skills. Those ammos are the close range varieties and do the most damage untill you can use t2 guns with quake.
