Ok i know the serious responsibility a scout has, they could make the decision that gets the fleet killed. So i really need a guide on scouting, oh second could someone give me a guide on dps for fw and some good fits for scouting and fw? Thank u all contributors!

i duno if eve is easy still has those videos up but youtube search eveiseasy and it should take you to their page which actually has quite alot of usefull stuff on it and some of which is scanning/scouting and dscanning which you need to be aware of and good at to scout.

mostly you need to be in a fast ship be aware of d-scan and local, aswell as know your surrounding area, ie systems nearby, dead ends stations everyone docks at etc, through routes! if a fleet has come through your system it will have a destination most likely and knowing surrounding area or what is through your area is key, 0.0 nearby? path to high activity pirate low?. all key for scouting and mostly things you pick up by being there and doing it.

Learn to fly covops ships. Failing that, interceptors are all right because of fast warp.

Learn how to quadrangulate with d-scan so that you can find people fast.

Keep count of jumps and approximate jump times back to the main fleet so you know their response time, keep an eye on 360 degree d-scan and local for targets and enemies.

Be familiar with the area you're roaming. If possible, know the other scouts for major organizations, etc so you can know if that ship/group is an advance party for a larger force or a legit target.

The rest of it's just experience, no guide is going to help you beyond that.

(For bonus points, being able to run a cyno beacon/covert cyno and combat probe snipers and so on will never go amiss.)

Id suggest you dont take that battleship anywhere near fleet warefare for quite a while. Scouts need mucho game experience, try talking to FC's and paying attention to what differnt FC's do and talk about. FC's make generally amazing scouts too because they know exactly what a fleet boss needs to know.

Being a scout is more about providing the FC with reliable and fast info, rather than the decision itself which will be with the FC.

Good luck o/

Partially wrong.

A scout doesn't get the fleet killed, that's the FC.

All a scout does is relay intel to the FC, it's up to the FC to act in a good way to the intel.
So if you provided intel and the fleet got killed, it's the fault of the FC, not the scout.

If you don't give the FC intel of incoming fleets, then the scout is to blame.

IMO the best way to learn it:

Join fleets, and listen very carefully what the FC asks / tells and what the scout reports. It gives you an idea what any FC would like to know and how a scout operates and what info he relays to the FC (monkey see, monkey do idea)

problem is scouting usualy is done by a character with several alts moving them in adjacent systems so he gets an overall view.

That beats the single toon scouting and to me destroyed the fun of scouting.

There is a limit to how many alts one person can run at one time. Sure, a small gang can do with the FC running their alt one system ahead, but a large sov battle might require info from a dozen scouts. Nobody can watch and process that much information at once, especially not while FCing at the same time. That's where the scouts come into play.

Oh, then there's the kind of scout "go to this region, warp to every moon in it, see what tower is there, who owns them, pick a few weak targets, and make bookmarks 100, 200, 300 km in every direction from the tower and from every gate in the system".

And the kind of scout "sit cloaked on enemy station undock and their staging towers for a week, find out which ships they fly, who their FCs are, who their titan pilots are, when are they generally active, what is their response time".

Fly an interceptor if you want to be a scout they tend to be better at escaping bubbles and gangs then cov ops do.

NA always is looking for new learners and scouts. Feel free to apply as well.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.
