my main flys a tengu my second account a drake. the third has basic drake skills but has lots of drone skills. question being should i just use the second account and 2 box the forlorn hubs with the drake and tengu or train the third account for a drone ship + repping?... or do carrier + tengu? tho this option is a few days off as the second account isnt tengu ready yet. i can solo the forsaken ones easy enough but i figured i could increase my isk/hr by moving on to the forlorns and letting second account pop the jammers an such

if third character is skilled drones and missiles, put him in a gila with a set of sentries, no micromanagement whatsoever for aditional dps.

The Tengu can tank any anomaly solo. What your looking for is DPS.
Sentry Domi can help you there a lot. And rep, tank, haul loot, assign drones.
Almost any other BS would do the same. I had great luck with a Tempest for awhile
BUT: It has to be scouted through every gate, can't warp cloaked, etc.

Cloaky/Nulified Blaster Proteus can still bring light drones and help DPS. It can also jump gates blind or solo fly on it's own.
Another Tengu or other T3 can help also.

I would go carrier + tengu. I prefer a sentry carrier. With T2 sentry's, 3 x drone damage rigs and 2 omni's your applied DPS will be better than fighters, mostly cause of travel time. I am in angel null, so tengu doesn't work so well, so I use a maelstrom instead, but same concept. I have a capital shield rep to keep my maelstrom alive as it is purely buffer fit.

Forget the drone damage rigs, use drone damage mods - more damage, and you can keep your carrier fit with more useful mods (CCC's or drone control range rigs so you can use 5 drone control units). A carrier with a single capital rep and no resist mods can tank any NPC anom. So drop 15 sentries, assign them to assist the dps ship, and just start blapping everything.

Edit: a carrier with 5 drone control units, 4 t2 drone damage mods, and 4 t2 omni's will have 1457dps with guarde 2's, a 55km optimal with the guarde 2's, enough tracking to swat most frigs, and enough tank to tank any anom. By assinging the drones to all assist another pilot, the carrier doesn't actually have to lock anything, and as long as the shooter has a fast lock and good cycle time with its guns, you will blap though any anom with incredible speed. And if hostiles jump in, just scoop drones and jump to a nice nearby cyno-beacon.

Do people really train carriers with the primary intent of ratting?

if your first ship can tank it, put the second account in a tier 3 battlecruiser. Insane dps and range, agile, inexpensive.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can only set max. 5 drones to assist your dualbox char.. so the Thanny will still have up to 10 drones it will need to use itself.

Autocannon Machariel + Tengu + FORSAKEN Hubs = best ticks you will ever see lol (forlorn is ok, I just hate frigs). Not a single frigate to slow your isking down (frigs put a serious damp on isk/hour anywhere in EVe PVE). If mach is too expensive, Artillery Maelstrom (guns in 2 groups) works very well too. I let the Tengu start in on a BS, then blap it with artillery.

Carriers are nice, you can just let the sentries do all the work and what not, and uses no ammo is nice, I just hate managing drone aggro and having to sit still. Carrier with fighters is nice because you can stay aligned, but fighter travel times dampens isk/hr. The only time I use carrier for support now is to assign fighters to mach/Tengu.

No, you can assign all of your regular drones to another ship. If you are in a Thanny and have 15 sentries out, you can assign them to assist or guard the other ship on grid with you, and that other ship can still use it's own drones too.

You can only assign 5 fighters to another ship and the ship the fighters are assigned to cannot use it's own drones if you use up all the receiving ships bandwidth. Assigned fighters use up all the drone bandwidth of the receiving ship, although any ship can be assigned up to 5 fighters regardless of bandwidth (so you can assign fighters to a ship without a drone bay, for instance..

Once, I assigned 4 fighters to my mach to see if I could launch 1 light drone from the mach to make killing frigs easier, didn't work, but assigning 3 fighters to the mach allowed me to launch 2 light drones. I've even done 3 fighters (assigned from carrier)/2 target painter (from mach) drones, seem to work ok, but needs more testing.

i told a corp mate this once and he didn't believe me so I eft'd the fit for him. Lots of people don't know the "Pro" can get 5 light drones from adding the right Engineering sub-system, making it unique among T3.

I'm not at home, but I remember making a cloaky, nullified blaster/light drone proteus with enough armor tank for just about any plex if you don't get neuted, that could perma run MWD as well. It's a sick beast :) .

I trained mine to use as a nullsec moving van, ratting with it is just a bonus. What?

OP, whatever you decide to do consider adding leadership skills for fleet boosting if you haven't already.
