Missile damage information/prediction in-game

I have 2 tengus and was re-testing (did similar tests a while ago) T2 heavies vs. factional.

I noted missile damage information (right-click and show info) under these circumstances:

1. Missile not loaded e.g. 172 HP

2. Missile loaded, in station. The value stays the same and the fit and your skills do not appear to effect the value.

3. MIssile loaded, in space. The damage increases. e.g. 290 HP, but off-lining the BCSs does not effect the value, thus possibly just skills in effect.

4. Damage inflicted notification e.g. 240 HP

I suppose the damage inflicted is what decisions should be based on.

I have one tengu rigged for rapid launch and one for damage- and there does not appear to be a way to predict what effect the rigs will have on the damage inflicted. Have to test in battle (or I suppose using EFT, which I do not use routinely).

Am I right? Is there a way in-game to predict what effect the modules and the rigs will have on missile damage? Am I missing something obvious that I should have learned ages ago?

where are you checking the values? from the fitting window? or the ship info found by right clicking the the center of your cap indicator and then clicking modules/missiles in question?

if the former, try the latter. i've found the ship info/modules reflects skills and mods more accurately than the fitting window.

The information is the same checked both ways.

And similar using both the tengus (differently rigged).

Edit: The damage inflicted on one target by 2 different missiles is dependent on multiple factors e.g. explosion velocity/radius. Thus the damage inflicted information may not truly reflect the effect of BCSs and rigs on basic missile damage.

At the end of the day, I know which missiles to use against which enemies, having played the game a fair bit. But I still find it hard to make fitting decisions in-game at times. Be good to have this info easily accessible.
