I couldn't find this with a search, and this is I think the best place for this question so here goes. I've been in a one person corp for a while. Usually just gave my alt director status so they can do whatever, but now I have a friend joining mostly just to use my POS for stuff.

I wasn't able to be sure I got it so I'd like to ask. What roles will he need to be able to use the research and construction facilities at my POS. I gave him his own division to access for things in corp storage but I wasn't sure which roles would let him use the POS facilities.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

make him CEO, then go on vacation. be sure to leave plenty of ISK in the corp wallet.

Also, make sure you leave all of your hard-earned BPOs in the corp hangar, along with your most prized ships.

pretty sure it's in a wiki somewhere, but how about you remove all roles from your alt, then try and have them do whatever it is your friend is going to do? you'll see exactly what roles you need then.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

1. Don't assign roles! Create and assign titles (avoid overlapping roles).

Example: Create a title for everybody (limited access "Certified Captain"), a title for researchers ("Researcher"), a title for new members (restricted access "Rookie"), etc., so a researcher would have two titles.

Why use titles? It makes life easier. Example: to change roles for EVERYBODY in the corp, you only have to change roles for one title instead of editing every single member (tedious and error prone).

You can create titles with no roles just for show. Example: "Diplomat".

2. Test with your own alt before assigning to other people.

To use POS for research usually means a title with
* Factory Manager. WARNING: they can deliver and cancel any job. You might not want to do this, and instead deliver all jobs yourself.
* Rent Factory Slot (for manufacturing)
* Rent Research Slot (for research)
* QUERY and TAKE on "Other" hangar division access (for copies, materials, etc).
* Assign a wallet division (can be empty). Never assign the Master Wallet! Recommend rename the research wallet division to "open" or "FFA" (free-for-all) or "research" or something similar so you don't forget.
* Keep BPO in a separate hangar division. They only need QUERY to use BPO.

You may want separate titles for research and manufacturing, but if you give out Factory Manager, you might as well as only have one title for both unless you don't want them to build at POS.

Recommend rename public hangar division to "open" or "FFA" (free-for-all) or something similar so you don't forget.

Also, there is control tower Structure Access menu. Look at Manage on the control tower.

Slots are by default public (anybody in the corporation or alliance), but you can change those too, and set fees for use, on the S&I installations menu and clicking on a slot.
