You're right, it wasn't harder to gank people back then. It was easier, and that's my point.

You claimed that the game is on a path to make ganking "retardedly easy."

It's always been easy to gank the unprepared, and that's always been intended.

In fact, the mechanics of ganking make doing so harder now (since Crucible) harder than it ever was before. Before that it was the numerous CONCORD response time buffs, and increased sec status hits, and finally, at the beginning, there was CONCORD becoming untankable.

Ganking is easy because the victims make it so by refusing to tank or fly their targe... ships appropriately.

You're suggesting a buff to people's intelligence? Hm...

There's an easy way to buff the average intelligence of the playerbase.

Goonswarm's already stumbled into it, accidentallyonpurpose.

I too feel threatened by ships that are easily killed by T1 Frigates.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

I think you of all people would have an appreciation of the power of the lowly T1 Frigate.

I can help two people.

Heh, was it ever actually confirmed that the 17 million could help?

Dead right, OP. T3 were a stupid addition; they're used almost exclusively for low-cost headshotting on cargoships. Just what Eve didn't need MORE of...

...funny story for you about that... I got ganked by a Tornado about a month ago in Hatakani in my trusty indy with "really a bit too much" cargo. This ganking character has made over 700 billion and lost under 40 with the "nuclear strike on a busload of nuns" hunting method. ...Fine, but he'd pay a little extra for it this time, I decided. I trained the T2 large blasters I'd been neglecting, bought an insured Megathron, and stalked. and stalked. Eventually I realized his -10sec ass had to be hiding at a safepoint...so I scanned, and scanned, and holy of holies, found him in his capsule next to a Tornado...got my guns, warped to him annnnd...

...and nothing happened. Sure, I locked him. But you can't shoot capsules, and you can't shoot empty ships. As I went to go dump my megathron for something smaller, he docked, and the goat rapist literally hasn't been online since. Pretty sure he's waiting out my killrights.

Morals of the story?
-Learning experiences: hardly ever overrated
-T3 Battlecruisers are unfair as hell. One shot alpha, maybe 2 tops, on anything smaller than a battleship? F-U, CCP, seriously. Do you ever catch a dumb idea before you implement it?
-Not being able to shoot empty ships without a CONCORDOKKEN is highly idiotic.

(...Did I scare you that bad, brosef? What, you can't spare $100mil out of that $700bil for an extra Tornado? ...Next time, try to remember how many people in Eve hate you and not take such a long dump while logged in. Great for a laugh though!)

So basically you put a huge amount of money in a ship unsuitable to hold it yet still good enough to tank a couple of shots from a Tornado if fit right and what you took away from it are Tornado's are unfair.

How about instead you take away that you should invest in a better ship in which to haul your valuables or hire one of the many companies that will haul them for you with adequate protection on the cheap like Red Frog, or Black Frog.

But hey maybe CCP will be kind and nerf the opponent you could have easily avoided if you had put 1 iota of effort into your own personal protection and asset investment. Much easier then protecting it yourself. Ugh

As we're now in the grip of tiericide, perhaps we can stop confusing Tier3 with Tech3.

I hereby will think of tiers as 'Series' so S1, S2, S3 instead of tiers - even if this is only in my own head Blink

You assume too much, catbag. I put a "moderate" amount of items in the only cost effective ship that would hold it, tanked it as completely as possible, and got ganked by an extremely cost-effective ship with a broken risk/reward ratio. In "hisec." (lulz) They don't make battleships with holds big enough to carry a POS, including a cargo-expanded, shield-tanked marauder, so your options are indy, Orca, or freighter, of which the latter two are frankly more goddamn money than you should have to spend to have a semi-decent chance at Arriving Alive with a few hundred mil of cargo....Really, the problem here is that there is no middle-range hauler between an indy and an Orca, but that's been an issue for years.

...That said, I'm with the OP; you all can hate on him all you want, but the fact remains that T3 BCs are frigging easymode for ganks, and useless for anything else. When you show us one used for anything *other* than bullying frigates and indys, maybe we'll be impressed.

Stopped reading here (I'm noticing a trend here today). What you describe above is NOT new, and has been here for the years I've been playing. So you have basically invalidated your opinion due to inexperience.

T3s offer these....people....the best way to get l33t kills. A T3 can alpha strike many targets smaller than a battlecruiser, so you can sit off a station undock in lo sec waiting to alpha people. This is technically PVP, but seriously CCP?

T3s also have also created a new kind of risk averse PVPer who is interested only in blapping frigs and runs from anything that he can't alpha. You see them roaming through low and null blapping frigates but running from anything bigger.

CCP has created a ship designed to appeal to the legions of trolls and no-skill CoD rejects. It has turned much of lo sec EVE pvp into a joke and BroFest.

To top it all off, many of the people who fly these things are Bronies! Nothing like losing your frigate on an undock and then having Rainbow Dash linked in local.

Posting in a low-sec instagank whine thread.

Its called an instawarp BM. Get one.

Another thing to look into is a broskie in a cov ops ship, hovering just below said T3s while cloaked....

Warp to 0 on your broskie and watch the gankers cry about the loss mails and petition your gaylordness.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!
