T2 ship bonuses and how the T1 carryovers are named.

I'm sure it's a dead horse, but I'd like to toss my hat in for suggesting that the T1 ship bonuses be renamed to "Role bonus" and pre-calculated for level 5. It's never really made a lot of sense to me that CCP would leave them as-is when in a sense it implies that ships you cannot fly without the relevant T1 ship skill at level 5 could be flown with said skill not at level 5.

It just seems to me that the following would work out a little better than the current setup for displaying ship bonuses for T2 ships as well as look nicer and be easier for new(er) players to understand.

Maybe it is, or was once, planned to let players fly T2 ships without having the appropriate T1 ship skill at 5.

If it wasn't once it will be now.

CCP is thinking of changing the prereqs to LvL 4. I don't think they said anything about cancelling that, least not that I have heard.

Maybe you could post this in the features & ideas discussion? I could see this implemented fairly quickly, all it would take is one fluent in english dev sit down and rewrtie descriptions for one evening.

no, t2 ships will require the t1 ship at level 5. it's level 4 for going up a "size" of ship. eg frig -> destroyer.

I dislike the idea of calling it a "role bonus" since some ships have role bonuses independent of skills, but I do like the idea of pre-calculating it at level V.

That's the current state of skill requirements for T2 hulls. While I see some benefit to altering those requirements, I don't think that is the point of this thread.

You don't need racial freighter at 5 to fly a jump freighter.

That's the only exception i know of.

Please don't remove these bonuses! They give me a sense of accomplishment for getting to V on a sheep skill.
