Ship commands with Kinect Voice

It would be so awesome if I could issue simple commands to my ship using Kinect's voice recognition features.

It wouldn't have to do everything, but a few simple commands would be nice. For example:

"Warp to 0"
"Approach Target"
"Orbit at 1.5"
"Orbit at 20"
"Keep at 50"
"Start high 1"
"Stop high 1"
"Start low 2"
"Stop mid 4"
"Drones launch"
"Drones engage"
"Drones return to orbit"
"Drones return to bay"

...and so on.

I'm sure there are a lot of technicalities that would make this sort of thing a lot more difficult that I imagine it, but it would still be cool. Cool enough that I thought I would post the suggestion here.

I played Binary Domains on PC, and this is one Game that has Voice Command. And you can trust me, you don´t want to have voice commands yet. In Binary Domains the Misshearing was sometimes funny. I´m sure they will make the game quit nostalgic someday. But I don´t really want something like that already in any kind of Multiplayergame... Ok, maybe in Battlefield 3 it could be quit funny if you say "Enemy spotted" and the game don´t mark the enemy, cause it heard "Enemy rotted" and think you killed someone.

The Problem is that you have to speak slowly and clearly if you want the voice recognition program to understand you. In normal circumstances these programs are able to understand you. Normal circumstances are when you are mining and give the game all of thes commands, they surely will be understand. But when you get ganked you will automaticly start to panic and talk faster and the game tells you it doesn´t understand you.

Also if you would repeat everything three times, like in mass PvP-Fights, the problem will not like a human comprehend the three commands, and suggest it sounds like the following comand. It will try to understand your command three single times.

This voice recognition is something for in 4+ years.

Clearly you've never used Kinect Voice.

Or you know, CCP downloads one of the open source voice recognition libraries and just make it work with any mic.

If you really want to you can do this without ccp's help, at least for those actions which have keyboard shortcuts. Just tell your voice recognition software to press f1 when you say "fire", and so forth. Could be a fun project

This.

There wouldn't be enough people using it for CCP to justify actually spending developer time developing and supporting it. However, it is easy enough to do yourself if you just use a voice recognition program and tell it to send keystrokes when you say the right command. That way people who want voice recognition can simply do it themselves and the rest of us aren't paying CCP to develop a system that would be iffy at best.

tl;dr: If you want voice recognition, go ahead and do it yourself. But don't ask for CCP to do it.

And before people get uppity about this, The above is NOT against the elua, as long as it's a human at the controlls, it's fair game.

Never used anything like Kinect yet. but yea voice commands could be done through an existing headset.

I do know Mass Effect 3 i think is supports Kinect voice and if you say "Boomstick" it pulls the shotgun lol.

EVE is like swimming on a beach in shark infested waters,  There is however a catch...  The EVE Beach you also have to wonder which fellow swimmer will try and eat you before the sharks.
