For hauling and freighters in high sec, is there an intel channel to watch for ganks?

I'm thinking about doing some trading ships and modules in bulk in hi-sec. Before I invest in a pricey freighter, I'd like to try and hedge against my eventual loss. I mean...are there roaming tfleets of tornados ganking stuff in Hi-Sec? I'm just not familiar with it.

Hmm looking at your corp not sure if srs or not..

I'm guessing you might have set one up for yourself hoping that people will join feed them some valid intel for a while then start popping them..

Sorry if I am tarnishing your fine reputation :)

I'm whipping up a freighter pilot myself, which will work under the semi-protection of an NPC corp to avoid WarDecs.

For my research I checked Battleclinic and Eve-Kill for Hisec kills / ganks, I did this over a period of several weeks. From what I saw for my particular situation ganks were few and far between.

That being said if you hunt around these forums you can locate a couple of posts which cover the 'cost to gank' in terms of Nados and what not. Its a very informative read and worth digging out. Hopefully someone has a link handy. Lol

Research a combination of the above and you can start to formulate a cost vs risk assessment.

here's what the intel channel would say: gankers in Uedama and Niarja, scanners up and down the pipes between amarr and jita and jita and hek. industrial gankers in jita, perimeter, and the gates of every other hub.

any intel channel would eventually be compromised. no point in having one unless its internal to your organization.

if your real question is, how much attention are targets paying to what's going on around them? the answer is, not enough.

Eh.....so do you guys just fly blind? Im honestly more afraid of hi sec than low sec lol. There are lots of you and anyone of you might be a ganker. :(

I guess im gonna have to make a neutral scout warping around in a shuttle

it comes down to the value of your cargo vs the value of the ganking ships. but suicide ganks happen for lots of reasons besides profit, so there's not a lot to be done about it. keep the value of your cargo 1-2 bil for freighters 75mil or so for industrials. If the cargo is small enough, cloaky hauler ftw. even if you have a scout, what will you be looking for? its hisec, the presence of neutrals is constant and the gank team probably won't be sitting on the gate. the pros will have a scanner that will check your cargo several jumps before the gank spot. hire a courier, use collateral, and unload the risk on someone else.

I can't see this really helping, you may scout your gates but the gank fleet can be off in a safe and just use a warp-in point, because you won't be going anywhere fast. Blink

This is good advice, this was the sort of ISK range I'd decided upon myself as well.

You can reduce the ganking window by having a Huginn escort you. Make sure one of the boosters in fleet is running a skirmish warfare Mindlink, the freighter pilot has evasive maneuvering 5 and the implant. After that it is just your luck versus gankers having a slow day.

For cargo under 40k m3, supertanker MWD orca is the way to go.

Oh yes, gankers love it when you put aggresion on the freighter for them.

Additionally, the majority of tornado suicide gangs are camping the 'highways' - ie the routes between hubs such as jita ----> amarr.

They will mostly only gank in 0.5 and 0.6 secs systems along the route. (niarja/uedama etc).

Sometimes camps exist along hub ---> lowsec jump offs for nullsec, one route in particular used to be the route to Jita from Akora as all the Drone region JFs would come autopiloting along full of drone alloys to sell in jita. not sure that happens much anymore though.

Heretic Nation asking for info on intel about gankers?

Seems legit.
